Ford introduced Gulf colour scheme for GT
Ford introduced a new colour scheme for the Ford GT. It will be called Heritage and has the famous blue colour with the orange stipe, like the Gulf-GT40s of the 24 hour of Le Mans of 1968 and 1969.
The GT Heritage is now shown at the Concorso Italiano in Monterey Bay (VS),

I was under the impression that it was a one off it's been around since pre-production of the car back in 2003.

wow, that looks pretty cool.
no, i think that is actually going to be a production color. I know they had the test mule that was painted like that, but GT sales are struggling, so maybe they introduced this color to get some more customers

Yeah I'm fairly certain you're right about that. But hey, this isn't replica of the original, just an homage.
I prefer the look of the Tungsten though

Sales are struggling because the car is over priced as it stands - and after delaerships stick $100,000 on top of the sticker price, no wonder.
The Ford GT should be at most a $90,000 car - if not cheaper.
The Viper at $90,000 is way way over priced, and at $65,000 the C6 Z06 is still about $10,000 too much.
That's just how it is

actually I think if they would keep the price of the GT at $150k it would sell like crazy. at 215-250k it is way overpriced but still better than the rival Ferraris IMO.

^^^ Doesn't matter - just because you are better than an overpriced Italian piece of junk that can barely run 1,000 miles a month without needing a rebuild, doesn't mena you have to price your car at some artificial level.
They would have sold every GT at $90,000 - and even if they didn't make a profit, at lease they would have had turnover and cash flow.
As it currently stands, they have only sold 25% of the cars made.

that's true and they did say that they didn't do it for profit but for the publicity it brought them.

I like the way it looks, although I'd feel odd driving it around on the street...maybe I'd get that color scheme if I was solely going to use my Ford GT for track days or something, but otherwise I'd stick to black or possibly red.
On the pricing, $150,000 isn't over-priced at all. Its a great car, and if only dealers wouldn't be assholes and gouge the shit out of the car it would sell very well.
