Simple way to do it is trace the ip, check who its registered too.. google search for the user name, ect.

Lets put it this way, on one of the other boards I hang out on, newbies who talk crap get satalite images of their house posted.(this was before that google thing too.
You aren't anonymous on the internet, so let that reflect how you act.

thats not always so easy though, many isps use a proxy server for all customers web traffic these days.. and even if you have their direct ip not many isps publish lists of what user account/ ip belongs to who

not that its impossible to track people down, just it isn't always as easy as you make it sound (unless you work for an isp anyway)

While some do use proxys, couple that information with a quick google hack, the info a person lets slip, and its very rare that you cant get everything. Having a friend at an isp, while making the process easier, isnt exactly necessary. Id put money down I could trace anyone given the motivation who wasnt using shell accounts illegally from another machine without ever using an isp contact. There are of course, less legal methods then those Ive listed which I might employ, but we wont mention them..Pick up a security book for more info.

ohhh dear. let me just say that, the post offending Jabba was done by my friend on my very own computer. He wrote it while I was asleep as some kind of joke, then once he relised I was'nt pleased he edited the post to summat else.

So please dont go looking badly upon me as I had nothing to do with it.

LOL within like a split second you woke up and edited? literally i clicked reply and it had been edited no more than a few minutes I don't doubt that you had nothing to do with that none the less, but doesn;t seem a plausable explanation to me Such a random act tho that post still baffles me what jabba did to desreve it?

Well i was actually half asleep and he woke me up with a laugh pointing at the screen. Either way I had nothing to do with that post so i dont feel i need a explaination at all, but I'd just like people to know I had no association with that post.

ok dagger... I have edited my post removing your friend's email. It would not be nice to have 1000 emails in his inbox this night
