Avensis

Honda Accord, a really nice car, god ride and handling. The engine was a 2,2 diesel and I think it is probably the best engine for this car. It pulls great and is very refined. The only thing that bothered me was the wood inside. I just think that Honda's don't go well with wooden interiors.

Not impressed by the Jag S. I only liked three things about it. The engine noise ( 2,5 V6 ) at 5k rpm and the excellen seats. That's it. The ride is not sporty and not smooth. The looks are dated, the switches feel cheap. You must be a freakin bodybuilder to change gears. The clutch is hard and so is the gear stick.
The third thing I liked about it was the whole charm the car has. Altough the quality is not the best, the speedo and the controlls look horrible, it has a certain X factor. But I'm afraid even that would be gone if I had the car for more than 3 days....

My friend got married on the weekend I had the car and I was his driver.
It was nice.......

This car is muuuuch better than the Jag. Good smooth ride, excellent interior. High quality feel inside and outside. A great allrounder.
It had 2,7l diesel engine. Decent speeds can be achieved. Good car.

And this car...........oh boy, oh boy. I had it for two days. Renault Megane Sport. 225hp. It puls soooo nice. The turbo noise is always present but it can be heard best when pulling in first gear with the windows down. I was impressed by the handling. In comparrison to the Astra GTC and the Golf GTI, this car felt the most brutal. The GTI felt more compact and better quality inside, but all in all I think this car would be my choice. I never tought I'd say that. I made a vid. When I'll find the time I'll put it up.

The breakes do their job VERY properly. It's a great car. I love it.
The seats hold you in your seats like they're suppost to.

This car is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!
Lousy ride. Weak engine. 3,5l V6. Oh my god. I got sick of this car after 20 minutes. The quality inside is apauling! When you put the pedal to the metal the aircon stops working. I mean, I was doing about 220km/h on the speedo. ( top speed in reality is 210 I think) and all of a sudden I start swetting......I mean come on a 3,5 l engine, 254hp and some hp and it needs to turn off the aircon. The materials used inside are terrible. The steering wheel is big wnough to be used on a steam boat.
When you floor it it feels like it has 150hp, not 250.
It's an automatic with 4 gears. How preehistoric is that?!? The third gear reaches the top speed.
I only liked two things about this car. The looks and the fact I was able to get rid of it.

These pics are from the presentation of the new Mercedes M. As you can see I put the car in some serious positions to see if the car is as good off road as it is on road. This car is MUCH better than the previous model. Inside the quality has risen imensley. But that was not hard to do, because the previous model was horrible. IMO it looks better on the outside too. The road handling is very good. The off road capabilities are decent and if driven correctly it can stand up to the serious off road contenders.

I really love that A6 Avant.....can't find a much better looking station wagon, and the pics look very scenic.

The Megane sounds like a lot of fun, and with those dark wheels contrasting the paint it looks the part too.

LOL....you sound like JC when complaining about an American car.

and feels better than in the old model.

The A6 is the best car which i drove this week

We saw the A6 production line on Monday and there we saw the
quality of Audi live.

i agree with u abt the avensis .... its just the ultimate accord wanna be toyota tht completly lost it .....

the accord is really hot ..... the new shape rocks ... and the front and back lights are awsome ...

Like you and dingo, I think the A6 Avant is just sexy! There is a small chance I would have one of them for my NS trip, I will find out in 3 hours, but I doubt it :bah:

Thanks for the reports, komotar. I like reading them. very nice you were able to use the Jag test car as wedding car for your mate's wedding.

The Mégane RS, was it the Trophy version? It has the Trophy version dark 12-spoke rims. The reason why I ask it, is cause from what I heard, the chassis of the regular RS isn't sporty enough for its ambitions. But the chassis of the Trophy (which is recent also available as an option on the regular RS) is a whole other league. That one is up for the job.

That is actually a feature most cars have. Of course it doesn't shut down completely. But when you floor the pedal to the metal, the compressor of the aircon is shut down for a while (so no real cold air is vented into the cabin). This way you can have access to the full power of your engine. Certainly on less powerful engines this can come in handy. Logically if you keep on flooring it, the aircon compressor will start working eventually again, cause the driver and passengers shouldn't be able to feel the temporary shutdown in normal circumstances.
