Favorite Exotics?

What exotics do you guys dream about, if money were no problem what kind of bikes would you toy with?

MV Agusta F4
Aprilia RSV1000R
Ducati 999 or the 996
Honda NR750

The Honda NR750 fascinated me many years back with its high tech engine. I lost interest in bikes since then.

But I believe the Duke 916 and MV Agusta are awesome bikes to look at - a Ferrari on 2 wheels.

There is a Honda CBRR something which has the Repsol Livery which is also cool.

Another cool bike is a new but retro looking Ducati - it looks like something Mike Hailwood drove back then ... It has a partial open bodywork

THe NR750 never did much for me.

I had a chance to sample an MV F4 once - and it really was a let down. Lots of exotic materials and all the looks - but felt rather gutless and odd.

Then again the F4 bloke gave back the RC45 and couldn't stop talking about how small, light and compact the bike was (The RC45 has the same seat height as an NSR250) - and how connected he felt to the front tyre patch.

RC, I had a 1993 KR1-S from 1998-1999, it was compeltely stock and a minter. Great bike, everyone said don't buy it, it will chuck you off and kill you. New tires at purchase and a bit of common sense meant I never had any problems with it.

I went pillion on an NS400R a few years before that. The guy riding the NS400R was trying to frighten me and did so, the prick

I feel a bit sorry for the US guys, no two strokes ever made it here apart from the daddy, the RZ350. Yes, I have seen RS250 'prillers here, but track bikes only.

The Canadians got a year or 2 of RG500, NS400 and RZV500 - you still see them crop up on EBay every now and again.

Just for hell of it I think I would add an OW01 and an 888SP to the list as well

RC do you have any webbys for some of these bikes id like to learn about em, you said the rc45 has a magnesium crankcase or jugs? stuff like that im curious about what makes some of these exotic?

I need to get off my arseand start up my website again. I used to keep the only comprehensive RC45 registry with a bunch of stuff.

There is really precious little info about the early bikes - the fw enthusisats left don't have many websites and the bikes are beginning to dry up.

I have managed to collect a number of sales brochures, service manuals and parts lists for many of the 250 & 400cc pocket rockets.

Maybe I should start compiling something and get some resources up there.

I had a number of Japanese websites with a lot of data, but the guys have all moved on to other interests over the last 7 or 8 years many have just closed up.

Another q anyone know any good sites for some concept bikes, or any success full bikes with no fork on the front some other design for the front end, like yamaha had a swingarm design at one time, and i read in sport bike about a concept bike called the ratz at one time with no fork cool stuff. used to have a mag with a concept bike that looked really odd called the equis or the eckeeis or something like that it had a pair of swingarms and used some pnumatic system to turn the front wheel.

sure the agusta is nice, but my definate favorite of all time is the Britten V1000(race/homologation) hand made by a small team in new zealand, and competitive for nearly 10 years; which in racing, is quite amazing, and lasted because of the sheer quantity of innovations, including the double wishbones with girder front suspension
