Default Finally, my LeMans 2005 Pics...Track Included

Ok, I know there is another topic with Le Mans pics, however, instead of bringing up an old topic, i preferred to make another one...If it is a problem, i will delete it later, and add it to the other topic...

So, basically, I arrived there on the first train from Paris, sunday morning...I couldn't go on saturday, which was unfortunate, because many cars abandonned overnight, including the 360NGT's....but i still saw what i wanted to see....thank god....

A 3.0CSL....batmobile...

Couple of 340R's...very bizzarre cars....

A 355 and a TVR..one of the many many MANY tvr's

The Ariel Atom, and a Caterham....nice lightweight trackcars were all around...

The Ariel Atom...Even stranger when u see it for real...still cool tho...

An Aston DBS...Doesn't look a lot like a mustanag, actually...there was one right next to it...they are not as close as they appear to be...

A gorgeous dino...

A very cool Ecurie Ecosse truck, with an old Jag XJ120...very nice..They are the team that put the winning C-Type on track, and had D-Types too...

The Front of the truck...

A Blue Exige...i love these cars..i saw a red striped white one in paris...very nice....

A lucky owner showing off his gallardo

156GTA

Beautiful Little Alfa GT Junior

An old jag (not sure if it's an SS, although i doubt it) and a Cobra...

Generations of Lotus...Elises and an old, "For Your Eyes Only" Espirit...

A 360 Spider

A groovy Pantera

A majestic Phantom

Focus RS Anyone?

A wonderful trio of roadsters...Elise, Dino and Austin Healey

Nice little T350, and a Vette...

Didn't I say all TVR's ever made were there...This is a small display...

Ultima GTR...

A Nice TVR, and a nice Subaru....

Ok...now lets move on to the Museum Pics....

Porsche 904...my favourite car of all time...

The 90's Monsters...Renown 787B, Silk Cut Jag, Peugeot 905, and hidden, is the Mobil Porsche GT1....

The Martini 917 Longtail...gorgeous...

Classic trio...917, GT40 and 166...Sorry about the fuzzy pic....

A group of classic cars...Lotus elite, an Alpine (dunno the actual name) and what i think is a Matra...

Stylish Pic of the GT1....

GT1 and 905...monsters...

Gt40, once again, sorry about the fuzzy pic....

An extremely cool mini, in the Museum

The old Porsche 935 Flachbau, "Moby Dick"

A Courage, in front of the Museum entrance...

The first winning R8....Love the paintjob...

Better views of the Silk Cut and Mazda...

A 190Sl, near the Mini...

Ok...You've been waiting for the track pics...so here they are...Bear in mind, it is extremely hard to take pics of very fast cars, let alone tresspass the really intrusive safety net, which u will see in some pics...but since i had to get better pics, i did trespass the line, and could get a few pics, with no net, until track officers saw me, and some other ppl, and almost got us kicked out...But i did it all for the benefit of JW members, and the experience hehehe...enjoy...(most of the pic u'll see without a net were taken when i was in track, but some were with the zoom from outside...if you see "in track" written on the caption, i was standing inside the track......

In this Pic, one of the team Champion's R8's, in between two other Lmp's...I think the one in front is a WR peugeot, and the one behind one of the Nissan Courage's

All porsches in track were private entries...this one, was an adventurer called Luc Alphand's car...he is, i believe, a famous ex-ski champion, from france...

Now, a series of the C6 pics (for RC45 hehe)

taken in track, with zoom....

in track, no zoom

in track, quite a nice pic...

Rear view...with zoom from inside the net...

Another quite nice pic...

The Gulf-XBOX Courage

In track

Rearview zoom shot...

Chicanes were the best place to take pics...

DBR9....Wow, what a Noise....what a car...I was really sad it broke down, and only finished 7th...but David Richards from prodrive was there and said next year they'd be better...Also, it was ironic that in the same weekend Michelin boycotted the USA GP, the DB9 had tyre problems...and they had Michelin tyres....But then again, so did the R8...

In track, with zoom...fuzzy, unfortunately...

Another Fuzzy pic...sorry....

In track pic....

Rearview zoom pic...

Nice, top view

The Maranello Ferrari's...All of them were 550s..the only 575 abandonned...very nice cars...very loud, but not as loud as the DB9's or C6s

My favourite Pic...the blue 550 and the DBR9...how i wish that net would DISAPPEAR...

In track, with zoom

in track

Rearview zoom pic...

The R8....The Champion team won, but I really didn't cheer for the R8...Like everyone else, Pescarolo was my favourite, and the Astons...but they made an impecable race...great way to close a great carreer...I did like Team oreca's GT4 Paintjob tho....

Team oreca's R8...taken in track, with zoom

Champion, in track...

Oreca...in track..the first in track pic i took....

The Oreca R8, and the MG Lola...

Champion, in track

The R8, and what i think is a Lola, but can also be a Dome....

The orange TVR....

The pescarolo....My favourite car...they really deserved to win...i remember cheering like hell when it became 1st...but 2nd place aint bad.....

I think this is a courage nissan, but not sure....

I also don't know this one...prob. a WR peugeot

Rear shot...

Well, that's about it...I have a few more, but they were not worth making smaller and being shown here...like i said, it was difficult to take good pics...but I did the best i could for the benefit of the JW community heheh... All of the pics are avaliable in High Res, so if you would like them, PM me, and i'll send you them...these were only previews....
That's about it...hope u enjoy them...i did...

Thanks for sharing all the pics. It's just great. I didn't thought you could see that many different cars outside the track

I never expected to see so many Focus RS parked next to each others. A club trip?

^^ Yeah that was the RS owners club, i walked round the same camp site as you Mers, got some pics of that atom too.
The majority of those RS's were tuned as well, when i was there they had their bonnets open and all the goodies on display.
Nice pics.

aw man...lovely pics...i actually considered taking pics of many of the cars u took pics of (for instance the TVR+vette) but i had a really small memory card...NICE race pics also, i also tried to get in (at the pitlane) but they noticed me and kicked me out before i could take pics ...anywayz, the museum, im just banging my head against the wall for not going there, the Porsche GT1 is (one of) my favourite race cars EVER...damn im stupid. Are you planning on going again next year??
o and BTW that orange car with the R8 was a Dome Judd (Racing for Holland )

if someone asked me whats the last thing u wanna do before dieing, i'll say putting me in one of these cars and let me spin on de la sarthe like a crazy with out stopping! thanks for the nice pictures dude..

Basically...yes...
Myself and about 2 other brave guys...There was actually an opening in the fence...i could probably see all cars lap once, before we were noticed, hence, a bunch of pics...And all the time i was thinking, wow, this'll look great in jw...seriously..because i'm like, the only car nut in the family...so the 70+ pics really didn't intrest most ppl here...

Not really...I actually was alone in paris this year, doing some studies...i was lucky enough that the 24h was on at the same time...and i was crazy enugh to get up early, to get the first train back...The Museum was really cheap...for me, as a student, under 18, so i payed little and saw lots...and there was this cool thing where u could sit down to a lap of la sarthe on a 917K, then on a R8...very cool....

just a reminger...all pics are available in HIGH RES...just PM me if you need them
