How to add a menu when making DVDs??
Can someone explain to me how I could add the Menu List in the beginnin of a DVD. For example, my friend gave me a copy of a soccer game and when i pop it in the DVD player, the menu shows if I want to watch 1. full game or 2. goal kicks.
Do i need a special program to do this, Right now I have the NEC-3520 and the Sony RDR-HX900.

For a game I doubt youll be able to customize it.. For movies typically the program you use to burn you can use to add them.
edit- apparently a misread on my part.

I'm going to assume this is an amatuer dvd of people playing soccer in the park, not one of a professional match you would have to buy

You need a DVD Authoring Application. DVD Architect is one that comes to mind, DVD Factory is another.
These ones are pro-sumer. There are some lower end apps such as DVDiT and probably a slew more that ship with DVD WRiters and mabe capture cards.
In short, yes you need menuing software.

Use nero vision express , its very easy to use .

Does Nero allow animated thumbnail movies in the buttons and video as background?

Video in the background yes ! , animated thumbnails never tested it , but it has an option to show the first 10 seconds of the video inside the button tho .

Ok i took a pic of the Menu that I want to do. I am not sure but is this what they call a "chapter Mark" because the sony dvdr has this feature but I havent learnt how to use it yet.

Those menus look like the rudimentary ones that even the most generic of DVD burning software can handle.

Ok. so are any of these softwares mentioned above capable of turnin a DVD that has the picture is decent quality into High Quality?
Reason why I ask is after recording a 3hr show, I cant split it so that I can burn them on 2 DVD with High Quality but have to burn them into 1 DVD with lower quality.
Or should I get a usb cable to plug the DVD-R into my PC to edit?
