Default Perth Motorkhana (Porsches, Lotus, Evo VIII, Skylines...)

I wanted to try out the new camera I bought this week (let me know what you think of the results ), so I decided to go to a little Motorkhana event being held by the Porsche club.

The day was split into 2 parts, the morning was for newbies just trying out their cars and then in the afternoon some 911's and others competed.

Nothing special really turned up, but it was really fun to watch anyway as most of them really gave it their all.

A bunch of Elise's, the red one is my favourite

Elan S2:

E36 M3, sounded damn good too!

Renault Clio Sport, set one of the quickest times with probably the oldest driver

Peugot 206, also very quick:

Peugot 205 GTI:

Mitsubishi Evo VIII , there was also a sexy black one but it turned up right at the end when my batteries were flat.

A couple of R33 GTR's:

R34 Skyline, looks crap with the purple mesh and wheels IMO.

Nissan 200SX S15:

The first Golf GTI I have seen, in the carpark instead of competing

A Westfield of some sort...

Boxster:

964 Carrera RS:

A few older 911's:

I honestly don't know, but it is the first one I can recall seeing so either way they are pretty rare.

Lovely event. I fully agree with you, the red Elise looks great and the 4th pic you took of it looks magnificent!!

What camera did you bought? It can handle a pola filter now I hope?
It seems a good purchase to me, cause the result are very good!

Thats what I forgot to mention ops: , its a Canon Powershot S2 IS ( http://www.dpreview.com/news/0504/05042201canons2is.asp ).

It is 5MP and has a 12x optical zoom which is nice, and yes it can handle a polarizer filter. However since the camera was only released last week I need to order in the 72mm adaptor before I can fit the filter.

well if the competition was a bit tougher then it might not have looked so good, as only the Elise's and Skylines could really challenge it.

You can't complain, you get some awesome track days at Barcelona instead.

these Porsche one's are great.

Do you use a UV filter like TT ?

Yes, she was at the wheel at this event too - but its a damn automatic.

Its a shame there were not more Porsches, especially considering I see some nice 996's and 997's on the road which could compete - but for some reason they don't become members.

As I mentioned above, I have ordered an adaptor so I can fit different filters on the camera.

I will buy a polarizer filter though, not a UV one.

I just realised I didn't put my watermark on the 4th pic - the best one!

You all need to return the original picture and save the one with the watermark....
