Aleighy- yes i can see how an orange Mopar would remind you of an orange Z of the same decade and it looks like you need a new windshield judging by that white line going through the bottom of your picture

Phobo- thats too bad. back in those days Detorit was much more concerned with sales figures at home rather than across the pond. I really don't think they would survive very well there though with the moisture. They would have horrible body rot (rust) if they weren't undercoated or garaged early.

the common occurance between the two would be ORANGE though the rear 1/4 glass is similar in both cars well

It's a 71-74 SE 340 Magnum done up to look like an R/T. The R/T's were the only Chargers to have the Black hood and stripe. The distinguishing feature from the SE to the R/T's was the doors. R/T's had big vents on the front of the door.
He does have the front and rear spoilers, which were options that most people didn't go for. At least in my experience, most didn't have them.

71 was the beginning of the end for the muscle cars. After the 71 R/T, the Chargers lost lots of power.

Are you kidding me? with only 500 of those built and stocked with Hemi's as well...

not to mention it's one of the few cars you can own that have a rediculous wing and have it be acceptable

200MPH on the speedway too. I sure wouldn't mind having one, I wouldn't turn down a 440 or a Hemi either though!

the Daytona is 20% more aerodynamically efficient. plus 505 built then adding the 426 Hemi that thing is a beast!!! and the topping of 200mph was great the pinnicle of american muscle cars
here is a 426 Daytona for sale which i want. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...549718971&rd=1

oh god...i think i just pulled an American Pie... that car is fucking BEAUTIFUL

I don't rememeber what book i was looking at..but it was back in '99. It had the prices for cars built before 1975. a MINT condition Daytona, could have seen $128,000. Of course i am sure now one could go for alot more.

Damn. I remember the first time i saw a Daytona. i was about 12 heading South on 405 right before the Sunset Blvd/Downtown Renton exit and not one, but TWO Daytonas; a blue one and an orange one, both with white wings, went roaring the other way. I think i got whiplash from snapping my head to watch them and then soaked my moms centerconsole in drool
