Default Prodrive to build own STi-based sports coupe

Not bullshit. I just got the latest issue of Autocar through in the post. David Richards (Ex-BAR boss, current Prodrive boss) wants the car to be ready by the end of this year, to showcase how quickly Prodrive can develop and build a car. It's supposed to use various parts from the Subaru Impreza, such as the suspension, AWD transmission, engine, etc., but wrapped up in a super lightweight body. DR estimates the price to be somewhere around £40k max, but with the performance to match a Gallardo or the F430.

Sounds absolutely sick. I can't wait. 8)

Yeah i saw it in the shops today... supposed to be quite a bit smaller than the scooby although the concept drawing looks slightly rice.... no doubt it'll be a stunning car though

weight 1000kg power above 300bhp, should be great

The numbers sound good. Let's hope the styling matches them

First thing i thought was Delfino Feroce since it was based on the Suburu of that day, but i assume this won't have the horrible understeer that screwed the Delfino.. Can't wait to see the looks as well!

Nope the subaru hatchback thing is a Subaru official car

This car is going to be named under prodrive and will look alot different.... its just all the internals will be STI based

The body shape of the Impreza-based supercar is pretty sexy. It's all about power-to-weight ratio in this car according to that source. Do you think if it's successful made into production that we may see some here in the USA?

Damn it i lost the link for the concept sketches. Looked cool, no hoodscoop, front mount intercoller, they want it make it smaller than a Ford focus and a 206.
I'm also excited to see if this philosophy wil extent to the 06 STi, a smaller more agile STi with a twin scroll turbo, that would be aweseom!!!!
