Default GT4 -vs- Forza's Nurburbring...

Hi everyone,

I must say how pleased I am with with GT4's ring - but I'm wondering how Forza's version compares...

*It is as realistic?
*Was the Ring surveyed every 15mm like GT4? etc. etc.
*What are the differences between the two (strengths & weaknesses)

I suppose it will be hard to say without playing Forza's verion, but I'm guessing it won't be as accurate as GT4's. Maybe the graphics and textures may be alittle better on the xbox so if you want visuals then maybe Forza is the way to go. Also I think you have to take into consideration how well the cars relate to the track as they would in real life. For instance if you take a Evo8 around a certain corner in real life, in the game you would exspect it to be fairly similar, will forza do this better than GT4?
My peronal thought is that it won't beat GT4 in anything other than graphics, I dont even think the people who made Forza even drove the cars in the game, they simply put the specs into the game and let the physics engine simulate it. GT4 had 9 stages of real testing then each was translated to the game. I'm straying off topic here but I'm just trying to back up my opinion why I dont think forza will match GT4's Nurburgrung. But I'm gonna buy it to find out for sure, so I can't really vote now.

Sorry if I wrote too much to read

Well, I've played them both and here's my verdict:

Forza has it won in the graphics depertment, but GT4 has it in the realistic depertment. In Forza the rumble strips are just way too big in both length and height, the track is a bit wider than in real life, and you can't tell where the bumps are. Also the carousel in Forza is just a vertical piece of tarmac or concrete (don't know what it's made of) It doesn't go smoothly from the flat outside to the steep inside of the curve.

So my vote goes for GT4

If you want to go that route then let me tell you one thing. None of them are proper simulators.

But playing Forza with this gaypad I cant comment much on the physics, but it does have a neat live telemetry about every aspect of the car during the replay. I dont know how you console guys rate these games on realism but I would assume that a live telemetry would be considered as a big thing.

As for Nordschleife, from seeing the vids of GT4s I would say GT4s is way better. The Forza one just doesnt look for feel right.

I don't have a video of the 'Ring, but I have the following videos of Tsukuba, one from Forza and one from GT4. Granted, you won't be able to get a feel for the physics, but you can still compare the graphics style:

Nah man, graphics in GTR are better. Froza might have more FX, like more reflections etc but as far as looking good GT4 is much better.

Forza is alot better and alot less forgiving .. u can feel the track so i dont know what most of you are on about.. but seriously .. i can feel the bumps and groves and so much more.. and that changes when i change my suspension settings and what so ever...

its pretty realistic if u ask me and the side track information is awsome ... have a look on the racesim forum site.. there is a comparsion between the 2 using the laguna seca track.. forza looks alot better. and feels it also
