Default The exploding toads,,,

...dont' seem to be exploding at all I forget who mentioned it yesterday, but someone said toads have been exploding like hand gernades in Europe.

It appears they are puffing up as a defense mechanism when hungry crows try and get their liver. Since the crows have punctured their body and created a hole, the blood vessels burst and their innards escape through the hole

This reminds me of people purposely feeding pigeons rice just so they could see them explode, and then disappointingly finding out that the birds just die and there's nothing spectactular about it.

"But, because the liver is missing and there’s a hole in the toad’s body, the blood vessels and lungs burst and the other organs ooze out, he said."

I've never seen someone use the word "ooze" in a professional colum.

no no, it's uncooked rice for pigeons (the dry rice grains are small and absorb the digestive fluids, expand and rip its stomach open) and alkaseltzer for seagulls (birds can't burp, so if you put an alkaseltzer in a herring and throw it out, the seagull will dive for it. By the time the seltzer fizzes up, and fills the bird with gas. Soon enough...POOF )
