GM to put its corporate badge on ALL of its US cars!!!
http://www.freep.com/news/statewire/...5_20050413.htm
http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/...m-badges_x.htm
GM's putting its corporate badge because it thinks that people are not aware of GM's ownership of say...Saab or Hummer.
here's what it looks like
My concern is that this plan will backfire. Not everyone has a favorable view on General Motors.
So if you're getting a Sky, XLR, or a 'Vette Z06, don't be surprise to see a badge cluttering the side.

This will backfire... badly.
Imagine the shock and disgust when that Saab owner learns they bought a GM car.
They will shit their pants...
|
The company said its research shows a growing desire among consumers to know more about the companies behind their favorite products.

Who the hell did they ask?
Living brain donors?

in the words of Johnny Bravo: "This won't end well"
I think Ford and Chrysler are juping for joy right now because all of those potential GM customers are going to be flooding to the other shitty car lots
Where's graywolf? he said he only comes out of his hole when he senses a trainwreck, so right now his sense must be giving him a migraine

I think they'll be more surprised when GM gives Saab the axe.
I don't see the big deal, don't like it, take it off.

Im here lurking, between hwk on my day off...
Unfortunately gm has its back against the corner thanks to the UAW and retirement wages.. Give people few options and 9 times out of 10 they'll do something stupid which will make it worse....
Im just waiting for gm to desolve into seperate companies.. I want to be able to buy shares of one of the better baby gms.. rather then shares of an overwraught conglomerate.

"The GM corporate name has a stronger public image than some of the brands that make up the company," said analyst Joe Barker of CSM Worldwide in Farmington Hills. "It tells consumers GM is backing this vehicle."
|
Lol. Talk about the line of the century.

The GM badges are "the sort of strategy that makes sense when viewed from the inside," Noble says

Well thank you Captain Obvious
If anyone really wanted to know what car was a GM, all they would have to do is find the emissions sticker under the hood or the manufactureing placcard on the B-pillar
