Default 06 Civic, M6 Cabrio, Z4M, Spyshots

Sometimes it just doesn't pay to save space on your digital memory card for those vacation pictures when something big is passing you by. And that's exactly what happened during this spring break fling. These pictures, taken by college students on their way to their vacation destination, was obviously shot in the low-megapixel mode, but grainy or not, these are the very first pictures of the upcoming Honda Civic sedan.

There will be many differences between the sedan and coupe, but even so, one can easily see the similarities between the sedan shown here and the Civic Si concept shown in Chicago. Most noticeable is the sweeping roofline and A-pillar, which goes right into the hood for a dramatic look. The windshield, side-view mirror treatment, and front-side windows, as well as the rear fender creases and trim, all match closely with the Si concept as well.

The recent introduction of the BMW M6 coupe will be followed next year with a companion convertible version. Powered by a 507-hp 5.0-liter V-10, the M6 drop-top, shown here with body-colored camouflage panels on front and rear valances, should still be capable of 0-60 mph runs in less than five seconds. Seven-speed sequential manual transmission, speed-sensing variable locking differential, M-tuned two-mode Servotronic steering, and DSC stability control - modified here for more oversteer - complete the mechanical package.

Following their usual pattern, BMW initially introduces the standard version of a vehicle, and then some time later brings out a high-performance M version. It may seem a long time in coming for the Z4, but these recent photos, taken at Germany's famous racetrack Nürburgring, show that BMW is currently testing the M version of the Z4. The final product will most likely be launched at this fall's Frankfurt Motor Show.

The new sports car may use either a 350-hp V-8 engine or the 343-hp in-line six from the current M3.

The Z4 M can be distinguished from the standard model by its big front skirt with large air intakes and by the four exhaust pipes at the rear. This prototype also is equipped with a removable hardtop and very low-profile performance tires.

I kinnda like the body shape of that new civic, looks much more like 3 series rather than a civic... and that Z4 is kindda weird to have M, the Z4M? why they didn't call it the new M Coupe?
