Default 996C4S BLACK-MAT !, SLR , PhantomVI,Phaeton,... in St.Moritz

Beginning of February, (one or two weeks after the Polo) I was car haunting around the famous Palace Hotel

RollsRoyce Phantom6 (1968) from Palace Hotel

a Maybach on static display

The SLR from the Polo event had been driving around (and I wasn't there ) covered with salt

What a surprise to see a black mat 996C4S next to the SLR 8)

A Cayenne S from Monaco was arriving at the Palace

and the Hotel boy moved it to the garage ( I was ready to shoot the Triple! )

combo

Blackmat is nice, isn't it ? and rare ( my first one )

Minutes after, a 996 Turbo stopped on the sidewalk and the owner went shopping..

and some random cars ...

VW Tuareg

VW Phaeton

?

ice sculpture of a shop next to the Palace

Enjoy 8)

Thanks for the info.

Correction , I don't live there, my parents do.

Amazing, I'd take the black mat C4S over the SLR in a glimpse

Just too bad you were there in the evening without a tripod, but still most pics are plenty good enough to be saved

yeah, if you compare the pictures with the ones on the lake with sunlight, there is a big difference for the colors / and snow is again a better background than the grey of the walls and streets.

Well actually very sunny conditions like on a frozen snowy lake aren't really "perfect" though. there are always MANY reflections (polarizer filter becomes almost mandatory) and if the sun isn't at the zenith, you can take pics from some angles only because from others you will shoot in the direction of the sun and you will risk to ruin the camera and anyway you will get bad pics

Obviously when it's sunny at least you dont' risk blurry pics

ideal conditions are IMO cloudy days when there is still enough light though. That way all the possible angles are ok to shoot from, and reglections aren't a problem.

At night is very cool too because again you have all the possible angles and not too many reflections (depending by artificial light).

Evening like in your pics is again a nightmare IMO (happened to me the same in Paris some days ago and I had to throw away many blurry pics). Because your eyes still see quite enough light, while your camera is usually a bit on the limit, so you still tend to shoot without a tripod, thinkink you can be steady enough

But you have to admit you should have used a tripod for these Palace pics

Take this comment in a positive way, I don't want to point out your mistakes just to be mean and I am no professional photographer myself, but for instance the back of the C4S is really way too blurry and some others are on the limit too.

totally agree with you, I kept the picture with the back of the 4S in because it was the only one I had, for the other angles I had several shots to choose from...
I have to buy a small tripod for future missions, because the one I have is about 50cm long and quite heavy, so often the tripod is left at home.

About the comparison with the snow pics, you're right., these conditions are not perfect either... I wanted to say in the previous post that around the Palace Hotel, everything is grey-brown-dirty colored (the road, the walls) - so you'll never find blue sky or gras or some trees to have a nicer background...

Wow that matt black 996 C4S is stunning imo. And a SLR is always a great sighting.

The Infiniti FX isn't officially imported in Europe, but if you'll ask your Nissan dealership kindly they will import a US model. At least that's the way it's done in my counrty. From time to time, you see a FX driving around over here.

I am not sure if it's 100% official or not, but around here, Lamborgini dealerships also take care of the FX (as long as Mustangs) I am sure you can buy them elsewhere too, but it's much cooler to pick it up by Affolter Lamborghini

nice pics.

That black C4S is sooooo cool....I love it. I never saw a porsche in that colour...

Great to see the SLR on the streets and the old Rolls really fits St. Moritz!

It's like the car belongs there....

Thx a bunch!
