For the past year I been using Mcafee Internet Security and my subscription just finished.
So far i never had a problem with mcafee but i heard it's not that good so i was thinking in changing for a diferent one.

Which one do u guys recomend???
I want a package with firewall and anti-virus.
I was thinking about Trend Internet security which got a very good review on CNET but i would also like to hear from u guys.

It's a tricky thing to recommend anti-virus, firewalls, etc. I'm not a computer literate person so I only can give you my experiences
I had zonealarm because it had a good review from cnet, but I hated it. It didn't allow me to see lots of pages, hotlinked images here in the forums, and interfiered a lot with my browsing.
so I axed it and now have norton and seems to be working fine. Of course some ppl say it's shit, but nowadays almost any big name in internet security it's good.
also, don't try pccillin', it's crap and useless. A friend's computer had some issues, so we uninstalled pccillin and installed norton...OMG!!! more than 100 trojans in that computer

I know... maybe the psycho bear, thamar knows which one is the best,

They say Norton is shit, but I use it myself and haven't had any complaints.

AS for antyvirus applications as far as i know during the latest tests Kaspersky Antyvirus was the most efficient. But Norton will do just fine.

Sygate Personal Firewall is the best software firewall for windows. I use seperate software for AV and FW.

Zonealarm is way bloated these days and Norton well just stay away from Norton.

I just use AntiVir (online and free) and Ad-Aware and use Firefox for browsing. I have never had any problems.

I don't see how a normal private surfer needs more than that....

Im using Norton Antivirus Corp 9 which works better than 2005. Its faster, and uses WAY less resources. It doesnt take ages to load like 2005 does. As for firewall, I am not using any at the moment. 2005 internet security from norton was great but it makes your comp feel slow. Zone Alarm, it has been a while since I used it, and while it did get good reviews, I did not like it myself due to the layout. Very confusing and well I think it gives you WAY too many notices. I think it does work great, but I just dont think I need a Firewall popping up all the time Im doing stuff. I am behind a router with wirewall built into it so I am not all that affraid now. Antivirus software and spyware softwares are all I need for now.

i'm using AntiVir Personal Edition for anti-virus. its free and fast to load, and does very well in tests that i've seen.
not sure why you guys don't like ZoneAlarm, i've been using it for a long time, and really like it. you can disable most of the notices it gives you, and for me it only comes up when a new program is trying to access the internet. i like to have full control over what programs get to access the net.
antonioledesma, if ZA was interfering with your browsing you probably downloaded a version with web filtering or something. just using the standard ZoneAlarm and disable everything but the firewall works fine.

using zone alram secuirty suit .. 5.5062.000 works for me ... NORTON WILL SLOW DOWN UR PC STAY AWAY ...
use trend micro or avast or pc cillin ..
use spy bot search and destroy for TORJANs ... or AD AWARE SE personal ...

right now me suing zone alram spy bot serch n destroy n AD aware and also using tune up utilities ... works gr8 with mine pc ...

Norton Corp and Norton 2005 are nothing alike. They use different engines. Corp is a great product but I dunno if the price is similar to 2005. Get corp or stay away.

It really comes down to what you use the pc for and if product X has been doing the job then no real reason to change if it does what you want it too(well besides price).

I just chop n change, cause im abit of an apps freak and continuously try different products. Like I said Sygate is the best for software related but there is another 10 other products which work just as well. I also use a hardware firewall but it doesnt have anti-jacking application features that some software firewalls provide.

Ronin005 give norton corp a try, as SPEEDCORE says, Corp works WAY differently. While 2005 they focus on protecting normal users at a cost of speed, the Corp maximisez security and uses different algorithms to load up, protect, scan, etc.

In small words, It has better code to it which enhances protection and minimizes scan and run times.

I dont think, unfortunatelly, that there is a Corp firewall out yet. If there is one, I will get it.

I'd recommend "Sygate personnal firewall",and Grisoft's "AVG free edition".

I've been using those two for few years ,they work fine and they're FREE.

I use for years now the Norton Systemworks which is a great package to
have your computers, virus, trojans under control under a really good and
powerful user interface.
Now I'm using Norton Systemworks 2005 Pro which i think is really good!!
