firefox poopup or adware?
after all the hype with the popup killer of firefox, the last 3 weeks I've been victim of the dreadfull popups.
Still nothing to worry, but sometimes I have a new window, but I can't seem to find out from which webpage are they from, because I see them minutes after
now, after all this shit, has any of the FF users seen these popups these days or I'm victim of an adware?
here's a pic of the poopup:

eh I very occasionally get a popup that sneaks through, but more often than not I see the bar appear at the top saying one was blocked
but no, no serious issues with popups. you try deleting your cookies and scanning for adware?

fortunately I only have one or two poopups a day, that if I visit lots of sites where they have lots of publicity.
I'll try to delete the most part of the cookies, and I've scanned for adware, but I'll do it agina

^^I'd say yes, but it has some bugs, I think one of the most annoying is that ff seems to freeze and almost crash when you open a pdf archive in the browser's window. And it chomps more memory with one window open that IE.
but I like it more, I have tabbed browsing instead of having 10 IE windows open, and when you work like this, you can see the advantages. When you have to work with 3 word documents, excel, and another program, you jump to ff

yeah the pdf thing is one of the few things that has bothered me. tabbing is one of my favorite things too, and it works a whole lot better on firefox than it does on netscape

WTF ive been using firefox for over 5 month and I have NEVER gotten a popup. Not even when I visit those crack sites.
What you should try and do is install the custom Hosts file. Go to google.com and type HOSTS file download to get more info about it.

demon-io, what does that hosts do? block more efficiently popups?
mm, now I've just finished an adware check up with spybot and found something in the registry, maybe that was the origin of the problem. Strange, ad-aware didn't find it

so I downloaded firefox...well I don't see too much difference, it seems to d/l a bit faster.
I do like the tabs though, is there anyway of jumping tabs with the keyboard, kinda like alt+tab? and what about a shortcut to opening the site in a new tab?

perhaps it was. The HOSTS file is an editable file that comes in windows. By replacing the original with one with upgraded sites, you get to block more of the spyware sites.
Just download the newest HOSTS file and rename the original to hostsO or something. If you dont like the change then go back. Me, personally,LOVET it. Many banners are blocked like those in hotmail and stuff. It bans spyware sites from contacting you so its much more protection.

here are the keyboard shortcuts that I mostly use, they are in the help file
Add Bookmark Ctrl+D
Back Backspace or Alt+Left Arrow
Close Tab Ctrl+W or Ctrl+F4
New Tab Ctrl+T
Next Tab Ctrl+Tab or Ctrl+PageDown
Previous Tab Ctrl+Shift+Tab or Ctrl+PageUp
New Window Ctrl+N
Reload F5 or Ctrl+R
Reload (override cache) Ctrl+F5 or Ctrl+Shift+R
Select Tab (1 to 9) Ctrl+Alt+(1 to 9)
