well with the engine thing, smaller teams will be allowed to run with the v-10, so any complains about that are just stupid.

and as for the one tire thing, what is wrong with competition in sports? isn't that what a sport is?

For one, i don't think that Mosley knows what he's doing anymore and is just trying to become Mr. Control until the Concorde Agreement expires at the end of '07. It just so happens that his rules are favoring the richer teams. BMW didn't have an issue with blown engines this year. Neither did Toyota i don't think. In fact, i don't think any of the smaller teams did either. So really, the one engine rule favored the small teams in the long run. Mercedes and Honda on the other hand...HAHA!

Ecclestone doesn't know what to do with Scumi. He loves the media attention he brings to the sport, and with that comes revenue, but i think he's getting bored with all the Scarlet cars annihilating the others, so that rules him out. If anything i would say Ecclestone would start suggesting anti-Ferrari rules...like you can't sign a driver if his initials are MS

I say its bull-shit. If Stoddart wants to act like a wounded pussy and cry about favoritism, then let him. It's not going to help him any races this year anyway :roll:

Ferrari is obviously favorised by FIA. They have more money and most of the rules were submitted by Ferrari ...
Of course it is an important team but if they want to race alone they just have to continue like that ....

to be honest, i dont really care, i think this season will be a lot closer than last and all the top teams have the ability to produce a good V8 - top teams that are complaining about an engine change are just being stubborn

Oh yeah? Remember 2003?

In 2003, the GA had a moveable balast; they would use a certain setting for Quali, and another for Race trim. Guess what? The FIA changed the rules later than the usual (parc fermé in this case) and the possible advantage turned into disadvantage....

This is just an example how sometimes the FIA changed the rules to stop Ferrari. And I'm not saying here that Ferrari is always harmed. Of course not, I mean sometimes they do have an advantage... But that happens both ways around.

So yeah, I agree with ZfrkS62.

I respedt Minardi, they're a great team that does wonders with the insignificant budget they have, but all Stodart did since he arrived F1 was whine...

On the opening post, I'm not sure if they V-8 engine swap favors Ferrari. I haven't read that much into it, but I do recall reading an article in CAR mag that said Ferrari would be one of the companies that would have to pay more of an upfront cost if the new V8s were implemented, because they make their own engines. Apparently there's already a 2.4 L V8 design already out there (of french origin i think) which other companies could take advantage of and buy, while leaving other companies (like Ferrari) to RnD their own. This seems that it would not favor Ferrari. I"m not entirely certain of this, but it might be worth looking into.

I think Todt is smart enough to see that coming and probably already has the V8 in design phase. it may not be built yet, but chances are it's on a hard drive somewhere in Italy.

Ferrari is a team that thinks ahead. If there is a strong rumor about an engine format change, then i would think the Tifosi would be smart enough to jump on RnD so that they aren't caught resting on their laurels when the rule gets finalised between seasons. And if the V8 change doesn't happen, we could probably expect an 8 cylinder limited edition Ferrari to come rolling off the production line at some point

No, i don't think that is fair at all. I point you to Monza when Fisichella spun into the gravel and couldn't get out on his own, but could have easily been pushed out and continued, but the marshals told him to shut it down. THAT was favortism free and clear. Being in Italy, i wasn't the least bit surprised once i thought about it.

In Italy, If you aren't in a Ferrari, expect to run the race on your own.

i think Ferrari has the second or third biggest budget. I know Toyota dumps retarded amounts of cash into their F1 project, which doesn't make much sense since they can't produce. But maybe Ralf will change that
