Default Just a mountain picture

Since such pics are often overlooked when posted between car pics, here they are..

It's Gstaad as seen from the mountain above. That light lasted probably 2 minutes! I was lucky!

Sadly no, because all my skiing equipment is in St.Moritz where we always go for the winter

thats a shame, but St Moritz is beautiful....I went there a few times when I was younger and still remember the beautiful scenery.

Pretty difficult to compare Gstaad with St.Moritz. St.Moritz, while still beeing the ideal place for wealthy ppl to spend their holydays, is more and more "brutalized".. now, this is not the right term, but well.. My family bought the appartment we have there the same year I was born, 1979.. back then St.Moritz was much smaller and less "famous" than it is today. I still remember, 10 or so years ago, it was totally different.. not as small and cozy as Gstaad is, but sure different than today. Today it is often overcrowded, and spreading bigger and bigger every year. Now I think legislation is less permissive toward wild construction policies, but sadly the landscape is already ruined by big buildings wich have nothing to do with a mountain village!
Now of course, I don't belong to a royal family or whatever, and don't want to sound snob at all
Gstaad is smaller and more "high end" withouth a shade of a doubt.. and well.. probably too high actually to be affordable for "normal" ppl.
Still, the 4 big names if you have lot of money to spend during winter are St.moritz, Gstaad, Verbier and Zermat IMO.

If you are interested in pure skiing, St.Moritz beats Gstaad, BY FAR

Stunning picture, i love the amazing motion range in the background, and how the cloud just pierces through the cloud.
such a beautiful valley aswell, with perfect white chrisp snow lining the ground.
and the brown houses look amazing with a thin white on top of them!

the bottom left what's that massive castle looking thing? it looks stunning, wondered if you had any pictures of that!
