Default If you can't buy an SLR.... build it

Krakau, Poland - One Robert Furtak decides he wants a Mclaren Mercedes SLR. yet for one reason or another, he can't get it (ahem, price). So what did he do? He built a replica.

Not as extreme a car as the real McCoy, but it was good enough for Mercedes to come check out his work and offer to buy it from him. And no, he didn't sell.

I remember reading an article a couple months back where someone tried to make a homemade Carrera GT.

saw this a while ago but never knew that mercedes actually took note and made an offer.. i wonder how much they were willing to pay him.. and what the hell they would do with that?

I've seen this before too. Great job, though too bad he didn't drop a different engine in there...or at least modify that one.

Reminds me of my girlfriend's neighbor, he's building a Diablo.
