That may be true, but that does not take away from the fact that he has very good car control! There is no way in hell I could jump into that car and even do half that stuff!

Have you driven one? I have, and that stuff he is doing is fuckin impressive! Not easy at all.
He has adapted his slightly with the ridiculous amounts of steering lock and the (what looks to be ) hydraulic rally-style handbrake. But that is still seriously impressive none the less!
You seen any of these vids with the stripped out mini's mike? Fuckin mad, one does a stoppie at the end its so light at the back!

Yeah that mini one was pretty impressive, not sure they've quite sorted the 50:50 weight distribution on that one!

Waaoo...That car can drive and he can drive well....
coombsie66, you said hydraulic rally-style handbrake .. How is the different from the normal handbrake ?
And how can he get the tail out like that at those slow speeds..

The handbrake is usually cable operated with (on most road cars) a cable ratchet system over riding the hydraulic piston in the rear calipers.
Due to the cable stretch and inefficiency of the ratchet system cable handbrakes are shit and poor at locking the rear wheels. So a hydraulic handbrake is used in applications like this and rallying. It provides much stronger braking on the rear wheels and there is no ratchet on the handbrake lever so you dont have to hold a button or lever in to release it.

They are not strictly legal in road registered cars either! -(could only be the US though)-
The reason being, hydraulic handbrake is not as good as a mechanical one at keeping the car statioary on a hill.

Those are highly modified single purpose cars, but nonetheless, he is highly skillful. Just the throttle control on circulating the last cone is worth appaulling. The Lotus test driver (in Topgear a few times) also participates in this kinda of competition. I don't remember if it is 5th Gear or Pulling power, but they once showed in one of the episodes on how these races go...
