Default Troulbe viewing AVI files

i have recently dl a couple vids from gtrcentral.com and all the avi file i dl would play in wmp
it says there is a codec error

does anyone know of a player or codec they use to view these files

DivX player always works for me on almost any type of video file.

its been posted b4 and i use it all te time. Get a program called gspot it will tell you what codecs u need and if u have them.
