2005 G35 or 2002 M3
need a litle help deciding, pros and cons. I will most likely be keeping this next car for 2-3 years, depending on the new GT-r or NSX in 2007.
Thanks in advance

...why buy a car if you're selling it after 2-3 years?
M3
There will be no new NSX, but there will be a Honda grand tourer.

If you're gonna buy a car, especially a 40-50 thousand dollar one you need to keep it around for more then a couple years. I hate people who buy a car and just trade it in for a new model every year, such a complete waste of money. Either way i'd say the M3, it'll have a much harder edge and more performance then the infinity. The G35 is really a competator with the standard 3-series not the M, so you gotta choose between a good car with sporting potential or a true sports car.

Wow, nobody likes the G35? If you're only going to keep if for a few years, why not take it? The M3 is turning into somewhat of a cookie cutter, and you sound like you want something that goes and shows. I'd pick the G35, but thats just my .02

Yes the G35 is a nice car, but I'd go for the M3 out of the two, I think it's the better car for lots of reasons - it's faster, better handling, better built and will probably hold it's value better. The only stipulation I'd have with the BMW is to buy one with the optional 100,000mile/6year warranty, and pay a little extra for the peace of mind. The standard warranty is 50k/4years, I think.

M3 is more prestigious and alot faster, reliability not quite as good as the Nissan engine, but BMW is more sporty.
The G35 comes with AWD option if thats what you want, not quite as fast, but its a quick car. Very reliable Nissan engine.

Yeah but there hasn't been a 50/50 chance of a G35 engine going Kaboom like that M3 engines.

05 G35 comes with 300hp, not too shabby if you not gonna race it or put it to the limit. Comes with smart key, mp3 player .... however, interior finish is rather less than luxury.
02 M5 comes with 333hp, quite blasing fast for most ppl, but have a high chance of being pushed to the limit by previous owner. Way better interior finish than G35, but have less gimmics...
Styling is quite "different" for G35, some ppl like it and think it's unique, but some thinks it's kinda out there and ugly. As for the M3, I don't think I have to say much.

Test drive them both to see which one is more satisfying. The BMW is much more of status symbol. You didn't mention what the car will be used for. Saturday night special? Daily driver? Will you encounter snow?
