Am I A Ricer,IF????
The Purpose of this thread Is to see If I'm counted as a Ricer. After alot of thinking,I'm not going to buy a Jaguar XjS,Only because I can't get Insurance and they aren't reliable.Only being 18,Its hard to get any kinda Performance car.I decide to go with the Peugeot 206Gti.I want to know if I did up the Little Peugeot with Bodykit, couple of basic performance upgrade such has a chip,Cold air intake,Mags, sports suspension,etc...Am I counted as a ricer? The picture below is what I want..

As long as you have the performance to back up it's "fast" looks, you aren't a ricer.
Rice is when people add stuff to a car thinking it will make it faster or stronger, but does nothing.

The picture is not a GTI, but the limited GT edition IMO if you want a bodykit it would be better to choose something else (BTW, it is possible to have the GT bumpers from Peugeot?)...

Yes, I know what you mean... I think there are a couple of aftermarket companies offering a kit very similar to the "GT" one the risk then will be that ppl will think you wanted a GT, didn't managed to find one (limited to 5000 units) and decided to copy it (but that's not a shame IMO, since the GT is pretty rare...)

Just wondering, your 18 and you can get insured ok on this car????
What insurance group is the 206 gti, it must be 13/14 or over???
Group 14 cars and 18 year olds just dont go, simple as that....
How much is your insurance going to be out of interest, im only 21 and would never have been touched by an insurance company if i had anything with gti in it....

Gat,I don't know why I can get the Insurance for the GTi.I'm with NRMA,But my Premuims per year for the GTi is $1745 aus.

I know its a bit smaller but what about a 106 gti.
You only have to read a handful of reviews to see how much fun they are...
Few engine mods and you'll be dusting 206 gti's im sure......

add a boost guage and a turbo timer!!! add some type-r stickers as well. now that would be one quick 206.
i did that to my civic and i'm killing everyone on the road. i crank up my stereo and all you hear is doof doof doof, yea it really distracts the drivers too.
in all seriousness...nah its not rice. but i wouldn't spend that amount of cash yet. i'd save it up . drive carefully get a good insurance record and then get yourself a monster. then insurers won't mind what you get.
