I needed a good laugh.. bugatti veyron
Road and track has a slight blurb about the veryon this month. They blame the delays on designing the car looks wise before desiging aerodynamically and then having to come up with a way to fix that. Particularly they plugged in a big rear spoiler which slowered it down to 230 mph top speed due to drag. Anyway the other reason had something to do with rebuilding the front to meet safety standards.
So.. the funny bit.. Bugatti has already announced the veryon's successor... slated for early 2008..
Talk about counting the chickens before they are hatched.
For those who don't know.. The veryon is now not due till fall 2005.

Dude...This thing's never going to come out. It seems that everytime they engineer a solution more problems. I say they just scrap the current body (it's ugly and has aerodynamic/colling problems to boot) and use the chassis for the successor.

Take the Veyron seriously , VW has all the money in the world to make the first car , they are having troubles but i have no doubt that this car will come and it will be the best car in the world ...

Fuck it. It'll never come out. The guys that put in deposits for it should friggin sue VW. That's what you get when you have a committee working on a car.

I read on CAR mag that some time ago they did a demo run in the US to promote the car and to show how easy it is to drive, funny to find out that during the demo laps it spun off. Later one grazed the all at over 200Mph at Nardo.

Everso: Bugatti is VW.
Pat: I'm betting against it... they won't chase money with more money for no reason. Doesn't make economic sense.

IMO the Veyron is overweight and overpowered. Cars with less than 1500 kg and 600-700 hp have excellent performance!
I see the Veyron as an excess.

I think it will exist, i read they put more money on this car than on the last VW Polo so it wouldn't make sense to abort now
In a recent interview, Thomas Bscher, the new Bugatti n°1 (and owner of a McLaren F1) said that it will weight more or less 1900 kg, that means that the F1 will have a better power to weight ratio .... maybe the torque ..

I think they will make it ... its a challenge for them , they have to show the world how good is german engenniering , plus is they cancell this car , then the Bugatti brand will lost credibility
