Default Bugatti Veyron - not coming till late 2005

well it ain't going to be out till late 2005 (says "car" may 2004) this time the interior is not up to the VW standards, i don't think this car will ever come out and if it does the hp will be down around 800-750, just cause they first said 1000, now 900, i think then it is going to be much lower VW should just scrap the car, it is was ugly from the start in my books, just let it die.

Well, I would have to disagree with you about the looks (I'm always for companies/brands that try to establish their own thing), but I'm a little annoyed with the "just air, still nowhere" status of the car.

VW should just shut up until its actually out.

VW cut back their power because they changed their top speed claims from 400 km/h to 350. The car is hugely unstable at speed and as a result they decided to reduce power to a "safer" amount. Apparently the car is suffering huge mechanical problems.

Like I said before. Up to VW spec? Give me a break... they can't find someone to sew suede??

This car is vaporware. Or better yet, vapor-where!

How did VW blow it so badly? This has to do something
to their image. Not to many companies have made claimes
so high and delivered so little as this.

Uh...Koenigsegg? They never delivered. Although a friend of mine went out there, drove the cars, checked em out, etc. etc. and is absolutely in love with the engineering of it. He said the door mechanism alone is mechanical genius.

I don't think this will do much of anything to VWs image - they may not be able to revive the Bugatti brand as well as they had hoped (racing??), but that's about it.

well, they didnt do it like a macca to begin with. there are cirtainly ways to aerodynamically help a car improve stability at speed... but 400kph is a rediuclous speed that is supposed to be restrained to tuners, and salt flat rockets. i think the initial problem is that it is far from 'form follows function' it was designed, sure, its designed with funtional inlets, but lets see some funtional cross sections, and air channeling to improve stability....

i disagree to the 850 mark...... if they dont come within 50hp of their original goals, or, at least, thier claim of 14.7 seconds to 180mph... who would want it when there truly so many options!

i think they should have scrapped the damn thing and cut their losses a long time ago. kind of like that supercar they had going for a little while with the VW badge on it but then it promptly disapeared.

i wish buggatti would make sedans. they're probably look really good.

there were pics of some modern buggatti sedan concepts.. anyone have those?

This damn car has been nothing but troubble since it was developed. Every few months it seems that it runs into new problems! I agree that the car should be scrapped because part of the whole draw of the car was the 1000hp. Now that it has alot less, it is not so spectacular anymore. I did see one as Pebble Beach last year and it is a very sexy looking car but I still think that the project should be killed!

Man if they promise us to develop a 1001 HP car and make so buzz about it for like 3 years , everything with less than 1000hp would be a shame , btw the whole development shit was because of the 1000hp , that car was not born to revive the Bugatti brand , or to make a beatutifull car , it was made to be by far the most powerfull car in the roads , and 1001hp seems like its up to
