i love 2 types of games primarily, 1rst person shooters, which works great with a keyboard/mouse..... and racing games

im wondering what would be a good option for under 200$ USD
ive played a few.... most recently, the MAD Catz which was terrible! even with sensetivity options... not one setting felt right

im looking for some good force feedback feel, and sensetivity that feels somewhat realistic... costomization would be helpful

-- and the stick shift is anice touch...

I also have this one - aluminium pedals and leather wrapped wheel - aluminium paddle shifts

This one has the bonus that it works with the PS2 as well..

I used to have this wheel, but sold it because i needed the cash :roll:

It was a great wheel and i paid £100 for it (in the sale) and sold it for £140 on ebay a few months later

If you can find one in good condition (you can't buy them new anymore

) then it will be a great wheel. From what i can tell the newer one(below) is not as good, and is cheaper in price and construction.

^^^ Fair point RC45... i have not tried the new one, but i think the price difference is a reflection of the attention to detail(leather, aluminium etc.)... my fault

...actually the "cheaper" one seems to have a more powerful force feedback motor...

And the "red" ones show up at a couple retailers here in the USA every now and again - the last time was at $120.00 - a hefty mark down at that.

Anyone who says a forcefeedback wheel trying to rip itself from your hands while you are negotiating a turn in a video game feels less realistic than a gamepad has obviously never driven a real car - or the good quality wheels under discussion in this thread.

For chrissakes - even my 5 year old daughter appreciates the realism a forceffedback wheel lends a game compared to a "game pad" - but then again she can probably drive better than you as well.....

I maintain fully, that anyone who says a game pad is more realistic than a wheel is an idiot.,. simple as that...

Ok, maybe for F1 games I would try and use it, but not for rally games or dtm race driver or things like that.

A granny such as you takes turns at 5mph and don't goes over 20 on the straights, so yeah, maybe for you it works...

Hhhmmm... so what you are really saying is that the wheel is more difficult than the game pad.... and you want the "easy less accurate" way to play...

...being that you are an "arcade game" and not a "simulation" kinda guy...
