gt500 in Gone in 60 Seconds
OK so heres the deal: i heard that the shelby gt500 (eleanor) in gone in 60 seconds isnt the real deel from 1967 but a 1969 or something with a bodykit, is this true??
1969 arent as expensive as eleanor and if you can make it look exactly the same... would be cool....

You can buy a fiberglass kit to make your 67 Fastback look like Eleanor. I believe it's offered by Shelby, but I can't remember for sure. The GT500 in Gone in Sixty Seconds was likely a 67 fastback converted similarly, but at higher expense because the kit was not in production when the movie was produced.

actually the car in the movie is a mach 1 with the gt500 body kit. and yea u can so that "conversion" it woudnt be too expensive i guess

actually the first movie was a Mach 1 and the remake WAS a GT500 '67 (all made from '67 fastback's) and the '67 is very different to those who really know the Mustangs

you can buy the GT500E right now from shelby which come wit nitrous, and it is the one from gone in 60 seconds. notice the "e" for ELEANOR.

i know there is a shelby site you can go to buy them from, they have kits from 400hp-800hp, but here is 1 i found quickly

Yes it is true that only the sound of the car is from a genuine GT500. The one in the film is several muatangs with body kits and different modifications (eg. the one used for the jump scene had heavily modified suspension). Oh and the car used for the sound (the GT500) was blue.

The multiple Eleanors were built by Ray Claridge at Cinema Vehicle Services (CVS) in Burbank.
