In first place that is not a good place to check in my opinion...
And you are puting fast tracks with lots of straights,with clear advantage for NSX-R,try a more technical track and you will see the result.  |
well, dude, then there's not many tracks at all that are appropriate....
There's no place like the ring to test cars. And I think if you took the doettinger hohe and a few other straight places away, the result would still favour the nsx.
And the Hockenheim ain't a bad track to check also.
I suppose a gokart track would be cool with you |

the top gear track is the last place where I would look for track times.
I can't remember, but was the track wet when they ran the NSX?

Nope, not properly. (take a look at gallardo, gt3 etc. - no wet sign)

No dude, it was wet! You could tell just by the time, and I remember the episode. And it also was a bit wet when they ran the Exige.

It's not just the "simple" weather (sunny or raining). For instance, air and track temperature will pay a major role in a good (or not) lap time. Among other things...
So no, the conditions aren't the same, unless the cars are tested in the same day.

Yeah, I was talking about the weather, all the other conditions might be the same but it still is extremely unfair as the weather is the most decisive factor. For instance, Egg CC8S - perfect conditions, Gallardo - soaking wet and yet no "wet" tag in the chart. Hence a brief look at the list doesn't give any evidence about the car's pace.

From top gears test track:
Honda NSX Type R - 1.31.6
Lotus Elise - 1.35.6
I don't remember whether it was wet tracks or not, or if the elise had the 180bhp output when it did this run.

1. RS6 because the 450hp and 4 wheel drive over power the BMW's 330hp even tho the Cls is a very nice car, but i just like the RS6 more
2.Ford GT, only if its againt the 550hp Saleen S7 but obvisly the S7 Twin Turbo would rule over the GT espicaly with the extra 200hp So GT for the old S7 and Obvisly the new S7 TT against a GT
3.hmm this one is hard, both the cars are about even in performance spec and other catigories but i'd say the Subaru WRX STI.
4. The Honda NSX Type R because its like a Bigger better Lotus its fast and it handles great but not sure about the weight but still the lotus is deffinatly compition

One can argue that the Exige 240R is an evolution of Elise. Just as the NSX-R is an evolution of the NSX.

Actually, Saleen S7 is much lighter than the Ford GT. It has a curb weight of 2750lbs, while the "porcine" Ford GT weighs 3485lbs. Not only that the 2004 Saleen S7 has 575hp and 570lb/ft of torque. And that coupled with Le Mans aerodynamics and handling makes the Saleen clearly the winner.
As for the Lotus Elise v. Honda NSX-R. It's Honda's 225hp/tonne v. Elise 111R's 220hp/tonne v. Exige's 217hp/tonne v. Sport Exige 240R's 261hp/tonne and the one-off Sport Exige's 471hp/tonne!!!
