The second edition of the highest-performing 190E is sold to European customers. This one uses a Cosworth-modified 2.5 L inline-4 mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Add to that larger brakes, wheels and performance tires to further differentiate it from the rest of the 190-series. Unlike its predecessor, (the 185 hp 190E 2.5-16 built 1988 - 1993) which was not an iteration of a competition car, this car has the complete aerodynamic dressing that its competition-bred brother has. Huge fender-flares house the 18" wheels, while the large frontal air-dam ducts air for better brake-cooling and superb downforce. Over the rear window is a large hood, which routes air downward, minimizing the suction effect found on the decks of all sedans. The finishing touch is the F40-style wing on the deck.

These cars are very rare, and were offered in exactly three trim-levels. The first had a cloth interior, the second had leather, and the third had leather and AC. Most of the Evo's produced were of the last trim level. About 500 are known to still exist, most of which are in the hands of collectors. There were no right-hand drive models built by the factory.

These cars are very different from the rest of the 190-series. Their motors are heavily altered by Cosworth, and the parts underneath were also derived from competition models. That makes owning one of these rare steeds more costly than owning one of the lesser models.

The significantly more powerful Porsche-built 500E stole most of the luster of this car. It continued until 1994, before bowing out

i think there was (are)great cars for design i prefer the 190 but for drive m3 rules!!!
