i would take the WRX for the boxer engine...and it doesn't look ugly anymore too. if i had to pick an EVO it would be EVO VI..and maybe the GSR...nothing newer for me.

Evo for me.. Evo used to beat Wrx in BM videos... anyways, I like how the Evo gadget works, ACD and AYC, they're amazing with the combination of AWD..

The two are very well matched, if I were forced to choose, I would take the WRX STi. For the price and the extra 29 ponies (stock).

I picked the EVO too bad they don't offer the MR or even the FQ 330 in the U.S.
but I'm happy with mine.

I bought the EVO 8 and I'm very happy with it I've beaten about 5 STI's already everytime I see one and I'm in the EVO they try to get with me and overtake me but they never can a few or them weren't ballsy enough on the highway and a couple weren't very good drivers. and the Brembos on the EVO are almost identical to the STI's
Also the EVO isn't quite as flashy as the STI with the gold rims and huge intake on the hood and slightly larger rear wing

Subaru for me, don't know why =)
probably because of the sound of the boxer engine.

Although I hate the new Evo design I would still take the car, just for the fact that it's still an EVO at heart... Will still blow your brains out when it corners.. And same thing goes with acceleration and braking.. the car is Amazing..

The Impreza has better looks than the Evo , the evo looks so ricey , so i would choose the Impreza, in blue of course

I would take either. They both are way more of a car then my 85 Subaru GL "Pimp" Wagon. I was partial to the WRX/STI for a long time. But after reading the reviews on the us spec Evo VIII and STI, I have a lot of respect for the EVO. The STI like others have stated is more user friendly with the suspension than the EVO, but for that same reason the EVO handles better. They both are about the same performance wise. That says alot about the EVO being down 29 HP and 500cc's to the STI. It would have been nice to get the Europe/Japan spec 2.0 STi engine with its 8000 redline. To bad I am poor and have no skills.
