EvoVIII vs WRX Sti

The newest versions of the 2 great rivals. Both cars have 4 cylinder turbocharged engines, they have similair power, torque, the same goes to the price. The Mitsubishi is slightly faster around the track...but which would you pick ??

SFDMALEX 01-25-2004 01:18 PM

Sccoby. EVO looks bad, and Scooby got more soul, and looks of course.

zr2man99 01-25-2004 01:21 PM

You can't beat a big hood scope. Scooby definately.

I like the EVO, its just one of those gut-feeling sorta things. no specific reasons.

racer_f50 01-25-2004 04:48 PM

i'm partial to the EVO 8's. i saw one in that sweet blue color and it was quite a sight.
plus, from that Tiff review a while back where he pitted those AWD cars together, it seemed like Mitsubishi made a more "sideways" oriented system for it 8)

Id say the EVO VIII. I just think that car is great, especially the MR which has even more power and a cool color. Evo VIII also outperforms the STI, and I just think IMO, that it looks better considereing that Ive been in one and I loved it.

coombsie66 01-25-2004 05:26 PM

An EVO in FQ300 guise, seen many around and IMO they look smart, and they r bloody rapid!! In red or black as well.

itsthepham 01-25-2004 05:27 PM

I'm loyal to Subaru. So im gonna say Subaru for sure. Although I do like the EVO VIII...whats the differences between the normal EVOVIII and the MR?

yin_cheong 01-25-2004 10:54 PM

I love both cars, and have driven both. I felt that Rex is more matured, and it is more tolerable under city driving and bringing friends and family around, yet when you demand power, it is instantly there. Evo however is more hardcore, meant for those who treat every corner as a challenge.

Ahem!! Evo for me please....

oscargarza88 01-26-2004 12:04 AM

i like the sti more because it looks better and it handles very very good, but when comparing the handeling with the evo its not as good the the entirior and exterior make up for it

coloradosilver 01-26-2004 12:08 AM

Besides that F#@$ing wing on the back, the EVO just looks SOOOO plain. It's just boring to look at I think, The styling is much better on the STI in my opinion,

levensnevel 01-26-2004 12:27 AM

Well,

I go for the Mitsubishi Evo VIII allthough I quite like the sound of that Scooby boxer engine

gottacatchup 01-26-2004 12:29 AM

i love the new look of the subaru and the evo may be faster around a track but lets face it i'll never go to a track so i'll take the looker

snacky 01-26-2004 12:35 AM

mitsubishi's image in the US is a startup econocar maker (a wannabe honda)

suburu's image in the us is a quirky 4wd econo-snowplow-wagon maker. (a weird wannabe volvo/audi? 'cept subroo's been in 4wd long b4 the quattros)

I'll take STi by a narrow margin, do they have an STi wagon?

oldsnail 01-26-2004 04:24 AM

i dunno, but rather habe the 2.0L STI that is in europe and asain than a 2.5L STI that is only offered in north america.
