I would buy a Porsche 911 if I had the money. Not any of the others, though.

It only made it worst when the 997 came out and went back to the traditional styling.

I think the best of the Porsches lost 40% of value in 4-5 years. Which is great for sportscars but keep in mind that 40% of $70k is close to $30k. Buy a good 993 or a 964 now and keep it for a few years - you should get almost all your money back when it comes time to sell. The 996 was perhaps the fastest depreciating 911 in history though

I cant really vouch here in Halifax, smaller city, not the best of weather so not a ton of sports cars about, but i must say other than at the dealer ive yet to see a cayman here on the street, more than enough boxsters tho so sales seem to be just fine up here

Sure the 911 is the only true Porsche but you must really mean only the "air-cooled" ones so anything 1963-1998 but then 356 owners think that the 356 is the only true Porsche since it's Porsche's first creation.

Either way it doesn't matter if you own a 911 or a CGT if you aren't an enthusiast about the marquee then you are most likely just posing.

911 this, 911 that...my 987S does me just fine and allows me to thrash others in good fun on the Eifel Region roads!

As for Porsche it's doing fine. Just that time for the market to slow down and give Porsche a chance to rethink some new ideas. If Porsche were to be in any kind of trouble just think...it could sell any of its 30% stake in the VW Group.

Completely agree. . . but the 993 prices so inflated right now.

Maybe the owners that bought previous year Porsches are happy with them and don't see the need to buy another. That would be a testiment to what great cars they build.
