Well... pretty shitty situation...

Doesn't anyone here, with money to mantain a Diablo, want to go to Brussels and keep the car for track days and things like those where you don't need the papers?

Or Olsen has the papers ?

So if I understood well, this guy has taken the car, the owner of the vehicle doesn't know where it is (it could even be painted a new color by now), and the owner also doesn't know where the conman himself is.

This leaves a few open questions.

1) we need to determine if the "friend" who originally mentioned that the conman would be interested in the car, is on the case as well (i.e. he's a partner of the conman).

2) we need to determine if the lambo garage is on the deal as well, probably restamped a vin or did other work that makes it much harder to determine who the owner of the vehicle is.

With these bits of info, one could pressure the "friend" or garage (via strong arm tactics) to provide an address for this person, but at what cost? Remember, it could mean that vengeance is taken back on the jvo himself!

It's very easy for one of us to round up a gang of people and march in there ready to slit the guys throat in exchange for info, but many people once let go will either try to find out who you were (very unlikely they can), and when that fails, will go after jvo for payback time.

If however jvo knows where this guy is (he mentioned he doesn't), it would make the job easier, but still not easy enough. There's just not knowing what one person would do when pushed into a corner.

Whilst I wouldn't have any problems trying to get a car back, it could mean someone else will get hurt... I do not wish this on jvo as he's been hurt plenty enough by this bullsh1t.

There was an incident similar to this a few years back with a friend of mine. He's trying to build a Spitfire (the airplane... he already has the engine, and it's HUGE). Anyway, he got into contact with a guy (who later turned out to be a conman) who swindled him of some cash in return for Spitfire plans and life size bits and pieces.

The quality of the pieces were abysmal, and so he contact this guy in order to go give him a little visit in the UK in order to "hurt" him a bit and get his money back. Well, in exchange for helping him out, he paid me and a friend the airplane ticket, and we took the opportunity to fly there.

After a few minutes of "hassling" this person (don't worry, he's alive, but won't forget us for a loooong time), my friend got what he wanted.

Of course, this guy then went to the cops to retaliate, but we were away from the country, and he didn't really have anything on us (first of all, he didn't know me or the other guy, and he also didn't have much info on my friend who since hasn't bothered returning to the UK). Well, in the end the conman had to give up, but it does go to show that whilst the law doesn't always work well to protect us who are fair, it still means that conmen try to take advantage of laws to protect themselves when you push them around a bit and try to get back what is rightfully yours.

I don't know what jvo has done in order to get his car back, but he must have done something wrong, or the conman has ties much higher then we think...

Cops do suck, but they're not complete loonies and with enough proof (the papers of the car etc), you should be able to get that car back. But like I said, I don't have all the details at hand...

The biggest problem with this for anyone "outside" of the loop, is that we don't necessarily know jvo, nor do we know the entire story, and if we want to fly to the UK to interrogate the garage, or go to Brussels to search every single house, it's gonna cost money and time, quite a lot of it.

If this happened over here, I'd be on it on a heart beat, but this is because I know some detectives (got a few friends who work in the business) and it wouldn't take long for me to "legally" find the person. But I don't know the laws for personal harassment or "people searching" that they have in Brussels, so I could be digging myself a deep grave if I tried to do something about it. Legally of course.

Personally, I would take this matter into the hands of a lambo club. Most owners are rich, and have ties. They could possibly hunt down with the aid of lambo registries, the whereabouts of the car, and from there use their considerable influence to get it back.

Just my two cents... but I am willing to hear more about this, and if I can help, I'll do so.

Maintaining a Diablo isn't the problem. It's only gonna cost a few thousand bucks a year since you're not paying for the car itself... I mean, say you buy a car for $50,000 and keep it for 5 years. It'll have cost you $10,000 a year, not counting insurance and maintenance, new tires and oils etc...

Here you've got the car, and all you need to do is pay the rest of the stuff. This won't come even close to $10,000/year if you're planning to keep it for only 5 years

The problem is what happens if the conman begins to track YOU down once you have the car. When you get it serviced, especially at a lambo dealer, they will take the opportunity to update official records on the car. These records can make their way in the conmans hands, and from there he can try to find you.

This means that you're making yourself, and your family vulnerable to someone who could potentially be dangerous.

There are of course "accidents"... I think this conman should be on the leading end of one. I have no pity for conmen, and those who fuck with your car.

^^ Talk about conspiarcy theories..

But it is obvious then that this car has to be found and sent over here to the US for safe keeping.

Man, stories like this hurt my heart. I wish there was something more I could do. Being on the other side of the pond makes it rather difficult to do any in-depth investigations though. Hell, even if I did somehow manage to retrieve the car, it would most definitely return to you. It is after all your car.

I found my Diablo.

It was at Sira Motors in Barking Industrial Park. It is completly stripped for spray, engine and
interior is out. It has now been registred to someone else and has UK plates instead of
my Swedish. Some UK insurance company is paying for all this. Insurance fraud I assume.
There is nothing more I can do.

There are pictures here:

Sad to hear again.

Any punishment for the guy responsible? Any information where he is?

This conman deserves to be run over by a fire truck, and then subsequently by the police cars and ambulance sent to help him.

It must suck to find your stolen Diablo torn apart at some chop shop. How could someone even contemplate stripping apart a Diablo?

I know where he live and I also know three names under which he trades.

He does not own the property where live and all his cars seems to be leased.
No traces of him in the US despite his claims to be from CA. Some people I
have spoken to say he is from India. Personally I think more Pakistan as one
of the names I have on him is very "Muslim". If there are such a thing, I don't
want to stir in things like ethnical background or people's view of life.

I got no idea on how to continue with this now, the conman has it all covered.

Sorry to hear this

Do you have more information about the car in order to recognize the car better.
I'm thinking of all the JW members around Europe going to meeting, Nordschleife, or just turning their head for every Diablo the see in the streets.
If we would have more infos (since the color may have changed), the JW-patrol can start looking around and the guy can't drive a mile without beeing detected

edit: forget my post except the first line, I didn't read the second page of this thread ops: .

So, the car was found in that place. ok, newely registered, new plates.. but chassis number? if the'y didn't erase or change it, isn't there a way for you to just prove that's your car and have it back? (of course with some insurance/police help)
