Giving away a Lamborghini Diablo
 

Yes, I am giving away my Diablo.

If you got a minute I explain why...

Last year I decided in favour of putting my Dibalo
on the market and I was pleased to hear that my collegue
had a friend that might be interested. We got in contact and
he was interested, we had the test drives etc. Maybe a couple
of weeks down the road I agreed to let him take the Diablo
to a dealer to have it looked at and evaluated. The guy came
back to me and said the vere some work needed on the car but
he was still interested in buying it and we made a verbal agreement
on the sale. I have never seen the car since or any money.

In December last year I found this guy on a Lambo website which
lead him to visit a well known Lambo garage in South England, the
guy had taken my Diablo there and had some work done and
some parts bought but never paid. With the info I now had I managed
to get the car back. A few days later the person that never paid for
my car in the first place broke into where the car was stored and
removed it from the premises. The police was called to the scene
but this "conman" managed to talk his way out of it.

I have now spent about one year of my life and nearly exhausted
a liftime of savings in order to get this car back. I have given
up now, I will never see my much loved Diablo ever again nor will I
see any money. All I want is that this conman will not enjoy
this car or the money that it will bring him, so I am prepared
to give it away to the person that can take it away from him
present it to me and obviosly has no deal with this conman
in any way. That would have been way too easy.

Please don't pester Jabba with a lot of rubbish now, redirect all

Diablo is one of my favorite cars, and I can't imagine how i would feel if I was in your place right now. (It is just really sad that somebody would do this)

I honestly don't think it will be that easy to take the car from that guy, but who knows...

And no guys, before you call BS on this topic, it aint: Jabba knows this guy and you can maybe also remember his vids taken with a camera mounted outside his Diablo and driving on country roads (long video).

Yep I was just going to say that he forgot to mention that he made the video of his silver diablo going down those twisty countryside roads.

I have seen the car a few times as it was serviced at the same garage that I take my car to.

All I can say is that I would be totally gutted if I was in his shoes and I guess the lesson here is : DTA (dont trust anybody) :|

Well at least at the level of handing a Diablo over anyway.

this is horrible! I cannot imagine me in such a situation. It's really unbelievable.
If anyone would have ever done sth like this to me I would have pay sb to have his head cut off. It must been the worst year in your life. I really wish all the best for you. Hope you will get it back someday.

Thats terrible news, sorry to hear about your loss. Its shocking to me how low people can go to get their hands on a car.

But dont you have any papers showing evidence that it is your own car which you could have shown to the police unless he has changed the VIN number? Please bare with me as i do not know the full story.

OMG, this is absolutely terrible news. I know those videos, and they were GREAT! Its so terrible to know that there are such swines out there who lack any morality; and present such faux good intentions just to snow us over. I am gutted for you... and wish that you, or somebody can find the Diablo, and "rip" himi off.

Is the car still in Brussels or has it gone elsewhere?

I don't quite understand how I can just take the keys from the guy, but if he hasn't completely disappeared, I don't see why it wouldn't be possible with a little help from a few buddies of mine... (some would argue the methods they use are illegal and quite dangerous).

I already offered these services as often its the best way. But like you say there is always a slight risk attached I guess whenever violence is involved.

Years ago the same sort of thing happened to me (I let someone have a ford transit van in exchange for them doing some work for me, it all started off well until he didn't want to do anymore work but still wanted to keep the van), anyway, it started to drag on a bit and get costly through solicitors, so we decided to go around to his house in another van and get him out to the door, he started giving me a load of verbal about he would need to speak to his solictor and I said he would be better talking to his doctor if he didn't give me the keys to the fucking van, and at the same time I opened my van up with three Alsation dogs in it. I have never seen anyone hand over some keys so quickly LOL. Anyway he runs off down the police station and I never heard anything since and that was like 15 years ago...LOL.

Repo men often use "usually illegal" meathods here, yet have the "OK" from the local police.

being your friend actually still owns the car, can he have a new key made?

Ok, read the messages on the forum, and I understand your stance on this. I guess this guy could be dangerous as well, and seems like he has truly disappeared off the face of the planet (or something like this).

Very difficult for anyone who doesn't know more about this affair to just find a person. We would need a name, last place of residence, and so on...
