I'm just getting a kick out of knowing Toyota will be building pushrod V8s. That's like the automotive equivalent of an oxymoron

This could be good though. If Toyota figures out how to do stuff differently, it could bring some veeeerrry needed variety to Nascar.

I have to agree, while NASCAR has some redneck aspects, those engines are amazing. When you look at what they have to work with, and the results, you have to be impressed. Plus, they have a pretty awesome rumble to them.

Toyota has a 4.7L DOHC V8 in their Tundra, and Nissan has a 5.6L DOHC V8 in their Titan.

The Nascar fans around where I live are mainly livid about the Toyota factory entry. A lot of local radio callers have complained and said that Nascar should be kept a US manufacturer series. I don't see what the big deal is anyways? A lot of the fans watch the race to see the crashes anyways, so they should get a bigger thrill when a Camry is slammed into a wall.

Don't see what the big deal is , really. People are concerned about this but what about that stupid 'Future Car' that the series will require all teams to run in the next few years?

Many pilots of the time were the opinion that a fighter pilot in a closed cockpit was an impossible thing, because you should smell the enemy. You could smell them because of the oil they were burning.

well.... not exactly related... but Lexus (toyota) just won the Rolex 24 @ Daytona... also running something like an aditional 30 laps then ever before... powered by a 4.7 V8 i think.... unfortunately, beating out the 9000+rpm porsche, and fuel efficiant Ford
