I love the elise, but the nsx could win

I'd be pissed off if I had an NSX and a little toyota engined lotus beat me!!!

3 not sure - I think they are much of a muchness though...

4 I'd say NSX but I wouldnt be surprised if the lotus was quicker - I think it would be close.

Not to spoil the thread but even with the same driver/track/weather there is always the 'human error' factor

Lotus Elise 111R Even in the straight line the 111R can match the NSX and I have every reason to believe that the Elise is quicker around the corners.

I disagree with the EVO vote - it is too fragile to survive 20 minutes on track.

Interesting...but then again, it does come with a warranty.

That i know of, mitsubishi would go on forums where people would post their mods on their evos and would track them down and void their warranty. But they supposedly stopped doing that.

In first place that is not a good place to check in my opinion...
And you are puting fast tracks with lots of straights,with clear advantage for NSX-R,try a more technical track and you will see the result.

That is most definately a good place to check (too bad the site is down atm). Besides the fact that they state the SportAuto times which uses the same driver, they also put up the exact conditions at which the times were driven.

Take a look at the tracks (taken from SportAuto CLK-DTM test)


It's far from "just" a fast track, handling is definately equally important (at least) over at Hockenheim. Unless you can show me a single shred of evidence which shows the NSX-R gets beaten by the Exige on any track, I take SportAuto's educated opinion over yours...

BTW, the guys of Best Motoring have taken the NSX-R under 8 minutes at the Nordschleife of the Nurburgring (7,56 = 157 km/h, M. Kurosawa, Best Motoring)
That's Porsche GT3 territory. The Exige loses from the Honda on sheer power, on virtually every, if not all tracks.

through 2004, subaru was offering a 1 year membership into the SCCA with a purchass of a WRX, and a WRX STi. some dealers will void your warrenty, while most wont depending on the degree of modification that is evident; and the problem.

im unsure if they offer the membership this year or not

well, dude, then there's not many tracks at all that are appropriate....

There's no place like the ring to test cars. And I think if you took the doettinger hohe and a few other straight places away, the result would still favour the nsx.

And the Hockenheim ain't a bad track to check also.

I suppose a gokart track would be cool with you

2. The Saleen has the handling, its does like 1.XXg something on the skid pad. The S7 would beat the GT in every category except price.

3. Really depends on the driver. But I pick the STI because I like it more.

4. The Elise does not have the top end grunt that the NSX has. So any track that has a section that over +100mph the NSX will win.
