^ everso, this is simply a conversation there is no need to insult the intelligence of any M5 owners, especially if you own an Audi TT
you can run but you can't hide their lack of intelligence

(psssst. i'll take my TT anyday over their overblown family sedan. thanks for your concern, buddy )
You will take a TT over an M5...e39 or e60? lol...ok, you do that, I will take the e39 M5 thanks.
everyone's got different tastes

I don't think we'll have a manual M5, also because it would need a new gearbox because this one is made to be electro actuated, with a stick we won't have the standard pattern ( 1', 2',3' and so on ) but a messy pattern ( something like 3' , 1' , ...

Errrm... I normally don't insult Audis, but it is true... the TT is the choice of hairdressers, models, and all kinds of women. It really is a woman's car.

Hopefully the upcoming one will change that because it won't be "cute" anymore.

if you know how to read english correctly, the add says that they offer 7-speed SMG, AS WELL as the traditional manual transmission. They are not referring the SMG is like a traditional manual transmission.. that's why i think its a typo..

Mistranslation seems to be more likely.

This is very, very unlikely. Simply a miscommunication on the website controllers part. BMW would have released this information in the lead up to the cars release if it was infact true - as it has been a major gripe with some media for some time. The smg IS a manual gearbox, actuated by paddles though.

well, i can end up settling this debate in a few months when my shop foreman goes for training on the new engine. (our rep has already been to Munich for training and i can tell you that the Motor Trend article was NOT fucking around when they said the engine electronics on this engine rival supercomputers. BMW has done away with the pre-cat O2 sensor on this one guys  )

once we start getting training on the car we will know for sure wether a proper manual is going to be offered. Or i can just ask our rep next time he is in town, but i'm not sure if he will know since he went about 2 months ago and this seems to be a rather recent development.

 There seems to be a lot of credability to this. One question worth asking though - how long do you think it will be after launch that the manual option becomes available? 6 months? A year? Whatever it is, this is great news
