I like how they chose Lincoln Mk VIII's as demonstration vehicles. They're quite nice but still pretty cheap. I was considering one before I got my Trans Am.
I see no reason why one of the "over the top" automakers like Bentley wouldn't try such a set of doors.
Lastly, just because modern doors have hinges and a latch, does not mean that they haven't made some significant advances in design. The issues with water sealing and making functional windows fit are classic design studies.
For instance, the 2nd gen F-body was on the the first cars that didn't need a frame around the window glass. This was achieved by angling the glass inward so it would be forced up and in to the seal that was designed just for that.
Anyway, wonderfully simple (Jeep Wrangler doors) or flashy and complex, yay for doors.
I must say though, a Jeep with no doors at all is really a hoot.
