And that engine is anything but a "hot street" engine. You hinestly think that Supra is 100% emmissions legal and factory stock excpet for some "boost and tuning"?
FAce it - the guys car is not an "8.55s street" car - it is an "8.55s capable when setup for race" car
Don;t worry, I have the exact same beef with the 9s street Vipers and Vettes and Porsche etc....
They are NOT street cars, they may sometimes be used as street cars, with different tyres, fuel and setup than when they run 9s, and need to be once again changed back to their race setup to run those speeds.
Again, an 8.55s street car would be the car that drives there, does the run and then drives back in the same setup it always uses for daily driving.

Ok not many people run their racetune on the street.
And with normal road tires you can drive it on the street.
Btw the other car i posted is a real streetcar

And in that setup the car is not an 8.55s car - it is maybe an 11s or 12s car - since it has no traction
And it still would be slower than a stock Veyron...

Wish I had a Supra. I'd be satisfied with the stock 1/4 mile time. These cars never became "used cars" you could pick up for a song. 12 fast as I have been, cant even imagine a 10 or an 8.

No - highly tuned and modded Supras are faster than a STOCK Veyron in the standing mile.
If someone suned and modded their Veyron with the same effort needed for a Supra to run either an 8.55s 1/4 or a 220mph standing mile, then the story would read "Modded Supra loses to Modded Veyron" not "Stock Veyron loses to Modded Supra"

I have already pointed out that I have the same opinion of "9s street Vipers and Vettes" - and that is that the cars are no where near street trim to run these times... they are in race trim when they set these records. (and yes, it is just an opinion... you guys ar emore than welcome to have your own )
Special tyres, special tune and special fuel - hardly "street driver form" - sure, they are "street legal" by NHRA standards, but not in "street driven" trim.

Hehe - again, a "One Lap" prepper car is far from "street driven" spec.
This is just as absurd as if I post a video of a killer lap in my car claiming "STreet Spec" C5 laps in record speed.
No, its a highly modded car with track specific tyres and brakes and suspension setup (even though the One Lap requires I believe 100+ rated tyres, thus making the Sport Cups illegal) the really fast One Lap cars are nto exactly in "daily driver" setup.
Just face it, to eb really fast on the drag strip or road course requires non-daily driver friendly compromises.
And I never said any of these cars ar enot fast 0 they are, they are awesoem, they are amazing, they are super duper -- I just wish people would stop representing them as if they are "daily driver street spec" - becaus ehtey are not

No, they are both street legal cars with race orientated setups, and street orientated setups.
The 9ff car is the same as a tner Supra setup for the standing mile - not really daily driver in record setting form.

A supra did go 230 in the standing mile this year so it can beat a veyron at that.
What did the veyron do?
I hope their be will veyron at next times texas mile event.

?
You think I dont know - there is a 230mph Supra in the tuning shop less than 2 miles form the site I am sitting at right now.
The point is a MODDED Supra "beat" the STOCK Veyron in the standing mile. A MODDED car that was not really in "daily driver" trim. Possibly not even street legal.
Whew - I guess the gist of my enitre response passed you bye.

And your point?
It is a highly modded car.
This discussion was about what constitutes "street legal" vs "street driven" and whether or not a speed/record achieved when the car is in RACE trim is really a STREET car record/speed.
*shrug*
I guess it has more to do with how honest these tuner car people are.
I have no dillusions, my car is a streetable race-prepped street car, and any and all achievements it does are by virtue of all the RACE mods, not the STREET nature of any o the stock bits left.
Much like any of the modded cars you posted about, the may "look" stock and be somewhat streetable, but they all make concessions to get the speed/performance they do, and at the extreme, they abandon some of the "street setup" just to get the "record/s[eed" then they go back to a "street setup" again, and in THAT form cannot perform the feat they did whil ein "race trim".
I guess something must be getting lost in the translation. I am simply wondering why these guys never just say "look at my badass super fast modded car" - Why do they alwyas have to play the "street legal" card?
The car is modded to hell, so what - they should just say"This is my modded car - yeah its sick fast, and no its not stock - any other questions?"

And its great that you are posting these videos about these cars.. my beef is more likely with the car owner that like to say "street legla this" and "street legal" that
Thats why I ended my comments with:
Since these cars are modded to hell, they should just say "This is my modded car - yeah its sick fast, and no its not stock - any other questions?"
