wow it seems most of you aren't that impressed... i've checked out other car websites and it's almost the same thing (around 55/45 against it i'm thinking)... true the styling is a bit fussy especially those rims, the rear end and louvers... but let's remember this is a concept and i'm sure if it made production it will be toned down a bit, to be less in yer face
i got excited about BMW's new supercar looking like the old M1, and still am, i'm really hoping they make a new high revving V12 for it

the headlamps are similar, but i would have to say that's where the similarities end... let's not forget Bimmers of old had quad headlamps, like that great angry looking E34 M5

At least M1 wasn't used to name a hotted-up 1-Series. That, I'm thankful for.

weird, did they made the car uglyer with intention? I mean-I like how the sides are looking, I really do, and the alloys will bo "normal" if they are going to make it for real. I could bare with the front, but when you kinda compare the scetch rear end to the one they made, c'mon scetch's better. So why didn't they stay with it?
still I really would love to see this as production car, not some stupid styling exercise...
and why is the miura concept such an insult to the original

Well, in the spirit of "modernizing" the design, they pretty much ironed all fine lines and curves flat. Another problem is that it was absolutely pointless. At least Ford GT became a production car.

BMW M1 Protoype Spied?
Or maybe just a great Photoshop?
A completely undisguised photo from a hangar in Spain of what appears to be a prototype for the BMW M1 has turned up on freshtarmac.com, the debatable question we now need to resolve is, is this real? Or is it just a damn good photoshop? Either way, we are united in the WCF office that the styling of the M1 shown above destroys the best efforts of the BMW designers with the M1 Homage. The front fascia design borrows a number of elements from the M3 on this prototype, while the overall body profile looks strikingly similar to the Audi R8.
Our message to BMW can now be put simply - BUILD IT!!!!

actually it's not a photoshop but a rendered domputer model. the HDRI and the materials aren't convincing enough, but still are a great effort

Wow. It looks incredible..... Then I realised I saw staring at the rear end of an R8. From the 3/4 window back it's very similar, isn't it?
Still, this made my morning. Thanks!
