Default German Touring Car Championship (DTM) Brands Hatch today

Hello,

what do you think about the good german DTM, which races this weekend in Brands Hatch ? Is the BTCC better or the DTM ?

Greetings Yeckmohr

Hopefully next year there will be a third manufacturer, maybe BMW , i heard they don't like the WTCC, because they have problems with their weight.

But i think audi and mercedes do a really gret job with only 2 types of cars - it's the same in Australia with Ford and Holden in the V8 supercars.

I can't watch DTM races on TV because I only have the five basic channels and I don't think any of them broadcast DTM. Is it possible to watch them online anywhere?

I used to see the highlights on Top Gear Motorsport when it was on during the mid '90s and it was spectacular. I loved watching the Mercs, Opels and Alfas battling it out.

I have not gone to Brands Hatch to watch them in person because of there being only two manufacturers and it would take quite a while to get there. The cars are still as good as they always were though.

Also, I would say that the DTM cars are much better than the current BTCC cars because DTM cars seem to be high tech and highly modified whereas the BTCC cars are just normal family cars with a stripped out interior and a non functional rear wing. :bad-words: If I had to choose between the supertouring BTCC cars of the '90s and DTM cars it would be a harder decision, but I think I'd still choose DTM.

I agree with Dani, they are 2 different classes these days, DTM is so far ahead on the normal touring car front. :bah:

I was at Brands and it was the first time I've seen the DTM cars in the flesh. I thought it was a great day and the support racing was also very good.
I find the big(ish) fire breathing V8's far more of a sight than the BTCC but as everyone says, they are not really to be compared. The BTCC is a superb sight in it's own right and much closer racing in my opinion.
Maybe it's just the fact that the DTM series is 'exotic' in Britain and makes it more of a 'must see' show.
Whatever you think, just be grateful that you can see both in the UK at Brands. What more does a petrolhead want?

I just went to the DTM-Final on Hockenheimring - quite loud, but there wasn't anything spectacular... there was more action during the Seat Leon Supercopa or the new ADAC GT Masters Serie....
