^same problem here mojo. A used one with 100000km's is around 75.000 euros here. 25k euros will get you a high milage RS2 probably registered as a 2 seater.

really? are the prices that high in northern europe for those cars? that's really bad.... is this because of the taxes? also for used cars?
but i would never buy a second or third hand RS4 B5. only if i know the owner well and know how he drove the car. i see a lot of RS4 owners here which push their cars hard completely cold....i know three guys which bought an RS4 with this condition and mileage and had a lot of technical problems afterwards: turbos blown, intercooler, tubes and gearbox. a very expensive repair on a RS4.
i remember when the turbos from my S4 B5 blown off...... very expensive!

^^^^^^"Please call the medic" !!!! :faint:

Those Audi B5 RS4 pictures are one of the best I've seen so far, In more with my favorite color : Misano red.

I very like B5 RS4 with 19'' B7 RS4 wheels on it, they are are very suitable for this car with the MTM bimoto wheels. :good:

Special thanks Skaala for them.

I completely agree with you to avoid 2nd an 3rd hand turbocharged cars if you don't know really well his full history. I tried to buy an B5 S4 and it was too difficult to find one in good shape. My plan was to put the APR 2.7T K04 Stage III kit on it, but since my friend's garage which can put these mods has closed and I can't find a good S4 to base my project I cancelled all that plan. Sadly, to import in North America a real B5 RS4 is too much expensive. In 2 or 3 years, If I can buy an B7 RS4 it will be necessary that the car will be in mint condition and reliable like a Swiss clock.

Norway, denemark and finland is pretty bad. Sweden is on a european level. We have double taxes compared to europe on all cars under 1999cc and 176,99hp. Over that we have quadruple taxes.
Norway now bases most of it's car taxes on CO2, and pretty much if your car emits over 100g/km you're f***ed. S4, old RS6,Q7 and a lot of other cars got a serious jump in second hand prices because of the new CO2 import tax (valid from 01.01.07) the Q7 jumped around 13.000 euros (compared to today) (luckily we picked up ours before christmas) and the old RS6 even more.

The government is also pushing (forcing with taxes) everyone towards diesel cars because of their lower fuelconsumption, and have decided to increase road tax if you don't have a dieselparticle filter. They are also pushing a lot for biodiesel stations. But new diesel cars which have this emission reducing particle filter can NOT run on bio diesel... :wall:

screw the healthcare (only cheap in theory anyway).....

I have to move.

Its not that they have that much problems, iys the turbos that goes, this is mostly because people start the cars up and floor it, or drive hard and then stop the engine while the turbos still are red wich will kill the turbos over time....

more a drivers problem than a car problem really....
I cringe every time I see someone do this to a car...people are either ignorant or do not care, but really how hard of a concept is it to understand? When you go for a workout you must warm-up first, and then afterwards you need some time to cool down, just like a car. For this reason I would stay away from buying used turbo cars (if I had enough money to even buy one hahah ) unless I could be really sure of the way the car was treated.
