Default Good Driving / Racing Schools in the UK / US?

Hello people, I'd like to know what are the good Racing / Driving Schools in either UK or US. Most of the sites that I have seen offer a 2 day course, now I don't think that's enough to become a good professional race car driver. I do have some racing background, but only Rotax Karts and stuff on Go-Kart tracks. And this was a while back, then resposibility crept in and I started working. Now I have some free time at hand b4 I get back to another Job. I was wondering if only I can get my Passion for racing back in action by atleast going to a good racing school, it'd be great.

If you know of any good racing / driving schools, please post em here.. Also last week I saw Russ Swift's ad on TV and then saw his stint on Fifth Gear too, I would love to learn Precision Driving as well.

I dont mind travelling aswell, as long as the course is good and can have a definite impact on my skills (as in make me skillful in every possible way).

BTW - Hope I've posted this in the right section, I didnt know where to post this..

Thanks

I've been told by a good friend who has raced with Skip himself, to stay away from the Skip Barber racing schools.

Haven't had any experience with driving classes except for one quick day class at a local karting track.

Not to sure if it's really worth the $2000+ for a 2 day experience as most schools offer.

Fast Lane racing school at Willow Springs in CA is a really good one and its not as expensive as the others (only 1000).
I'm planning on going to Jim Hall racing school, for karting of course, and its only 350 for a whole day

In addition to these big schools, if you own car you can participate in a drivers training event. They typically cost about 300 dollars a weekend. You take your own car and they teach you how to drive the car on the track. Typically they require you to start with an instructor and work your way up. They don't teach you how to go wheel to wheel mind you, but you do learn car control and how to go around the trackfast.

These include PDA, NASA, HPDA, and a handful of others.
