If you look at both of the cars closely and pay attention to the curved line on the side of both cars, you'll see that on the R8 it's executed much better and looks intentional. The line looks taut and only curves directly over the wheels.
But if you look at the curved line on the side of the A5, it just looks wrong. Why? because the line doesn't have any direction. It's just a long squiggly line that doesn't flow with anything on the car. The reason it shouldn't be like that is because it doesn't look intentional, has no direction and most importantly doesn't match the brands design language!
This detail is perhaps the one main thing that makes me have no interest in the A5 at all.
