Amp no working.

i just picked up a sub and amp combo and the amp isn't getting any power, i have the cables right and hooked up yet there is one hook up that i haven't heard of a "remote on"? the ground i right and the power is right but what is this remote on thing? and i also need to know what is the likelyhood of my stock head unit having the RCA connections to run to the amp?

cool thanks a lot Thamar i got it working. it hits pretty hard :shock: for a 75 dollar system i am impressed.

by the why its a Visonik 300watt amp and 10in sub. and they are in a standard cab 97 ranger.

I just put a new HeadUnit and front&rear speakers in the Porsche. Had to rewire the harness for the Sony unit and also the speakers. Yea, that was fun..... It was also pretty interesting and was quite the learning experience

I used to have a car with the battery in the back, so I could have the power cable to the amp as short as possible. but now having battery in the engine bay in the front and amp in the back... I heard it's not really good to have power cable longer than 1meter. is that right? I have the power cable thick enough, I'd say over-dimensioned
so how to sort the wiring power cable the best?

well mine runs from the battery in the front of the engine bay drive side to the rear of the cab passanger side and its an 8 gage. it works fine but for that perfect set up it should be as short as you can make it. but all my fuses and what not are on the driver side yet the amp and sub are on the pass. side.

sorry here is the translation 8 gauge wire is about 8.3mm

wow, I have nothing compared to yours ops:

15mm thick power cable, 30A fuse, 150Watts amp
about the ground cable - yes you're right ops: so the power cable can be as long as needed but as short as possible, right?

we should, mine is just a simple 300 watt amp monoblock into a enclosed 10 sub. not sure about all the RMS but i could find out.
