I bet they can, remember the recent fifth gear episode when tiff drove the ML63 AMG he couldn't switch it off completely but the mercedes man put in a code into the ar and they switched off. |
And no doubt such a "secret cheat code" event is flagged by the logs and will void your warranty

No, it's not logged and it won't void the warranty. It's used for dyno testing and MB's star system will not detect if it's been used or not. This has been tested by MB owners.

Especially when you come in every couple of months with a blown clutch
Sadly BMW did not put the effort into making a proper 6-speed manual and have used computers to ensure the reliability of the car...

The 2008 5 series is supposed to get a facelift in Spring of 2007 which includes the M5, hopefully they will fix this traction control problem with it. It is supposed to be nicknamed MY2008.
