Hopefully that will illustrate all the excess overhead weight, complexity and unneeded reciprocating bits in the DOHC design..

considering you eliminate the rockers assembley, pushrods and lifters, i think you pretty much break even

hmmm... 16 pushrods, 16 valves, 1 camshaft and 16 rockers... yeah pretty much weighs the same - but its all in a V8 smaller and lighter and more powerful than many 4 cylinders
