I want to buy a 2002 Nissan Maxima with 134000 kms. The price is 12.900 ( I think it went down from 14.000) and I want to buy the car, but I am not willing to pay more than 12.000. Do you guys have any tips?

Well, 900 isn't much, but if the dealer is super stubborn it'll be hard to get him to go down.

Try and find things wrong with the car, small imperfections. Like small chips or scratches in the paint. Maybe a small bit fo rust ( not likely), or maybe the tires need replacing. Scratches on the wheels (rims).
Is there anything wrong with the interior? Any stains or small rips in the upholstery? Was the previous owner a smoker? Look for little burns in the carpets and seats.

If you can't find anything wrong with the car, all you could really do is just flat out tell him, that you have $12,000 and that is it, you won't go any higher. If you really want the car, tell him you will buy it right now, but you'll only pay $12,000.
Or aim a bit lower, tell him $11,500 and when he says no, move up another $100 or $200, make him feel as if he is winning. Once you hit $12,000, stop and don't go over it.
Thats all I can really come up with.

don't act like you want the car too badly. you don't want the buyer to feel like he has control. also, bring all the money in cash and show it to him. if you whip out 12,000 dollars and show it all to him in cash it will be hard for him to turn it down. also, just try to bargain. if he tells you its 12,900 just tell him that isn't good enough. i have 12,000 and that is all i'm going to pay. if he still doesn't do it and you are positive he won't ( like he needs 12900 exactly to pay back a drug lord or he will die or something like that, then you have a decision to make). is this car really worth that much to me, and will i be able to find another in this condition for this price?

quick and simple...tell this guy..."look man this car has too much mileage" and he is gonna answer to that -"yeah but the car is in great condition", u have to answer -"the thing is that i dont know who the past owner treated the car and maybe he abuse of this car", the mileage is the key to reduce prices, one day looking for a corvette97/98 i saw one that was 94,000 miles and the prices was 18,900$,i contacted the dealership and say "due to high mileage the most that i offer is 17,000$" they answer-"sounds fair,call on monday to close the deal", the mileage is the key

No corvettes those are K/ms not miles. Did you run a KBB report on the car? Tell them that with the high KM, that you think you should get alittle more off.

Yeah, that's 134.000 kms. I'll try it, and let you guys know what they said. The car is spotless, so the price really is a steal. Similar Maximas were around $14.500.

well anyway dealers usualy give a discount if u mention mileage.

sneek into the convo how much ur down is going to be then change subjexts...just so the salespearson knows

if they wont budge on the price get up and leave..chances are they will come after u..if they dont they were never and will never lower the price

i am going to be selling cars soon so im prety sure that would work =)
