New Lancia Delta Integrale (2008)?
This months CAR magazine, in an article about Lancia returning to the UK, they report that the brand will be re-launched with a new Integrale in 2008
"It's a great relief then, to learn that the return of Lancia will be spearheaded by an all new Integrale in 2008."
"The next generation Lancias will be distinct, and the integrale will be one of the most evocative Lancias ever."
|
I assume the Integrale will be launched in international markets also?
P.S. Any tiny amount of respect I had for CAR magazine was lost this issue when they described the Integrale as....
|
"...it's Delta Integrale was the hot hatch darling of the boy racing classes."
|
for the US folks 'boy-racing' read 'ricing'

damn ive always viewed car as 1 of the lowest quality car mags in the UK, but that description isnt worth to be on used toilet paper...
btw the pics ive seen of the new delta concept dont really seem suited as a base for a hardcore car?

Oh that. From what I've seen the Delta be probably based on the new Stilo and that means it's not going to look like a hardcore rally car like gucom said. It resembled very much like the GT Stilnovo concept. But who knows, these are just photoshopped pictures. It could look like anything.

CAR said that although it will be sort of based on the Stilo it will be very much different as being different is where Lancia failed in the UK last time.
Can I also add that this is all really irellevant, does the Mitsubishi Lancer (non-Evo) look hardcore?? No!

That's just a photoshop, and that's not pretty at all.
There hasn't been a recent Lancia concept to hint at a new design direction, so I think it will probably look like this more. Not that car companies need to do that, but they usually do.

They'd pull off a miracle if they could re-make what the Delta Integrale was back then, today.
And lookin at that pic makes me think they are not headed in the right direction..

I just don't see that car being the Rally monster the original was.. And like you have mentioned, they will need to do some more up to date R & D to keep up with the new rally cars, EVO and WRX..
