Default BMW M5 CSL

Hy! I found this on the internet.

"Amidst all the talk of 500bhp V10s in the next M5, news emerges that a 'lightweight' version with 550bhp could be debuted at the Detroit motor show in January."

Anyone knows more?

I haven't heard of that! 500 hp in a sedan is sick anyways! I just went to the local BMW dealership and saw the new 5 series. It looks awesome! I'll go there tomorrow and take some pics and post them exclusively for JabbasWorld.

I don't think they would debut a CSL version before the base version has even launched; it would likely poach sales since some buyers would hold off for the release of the CSL version (whereas BMW can turn a tidy profit from people upgrading from the standard M5 to the CSL spec). I'd guess it's only a rumour.

I dont think that they will produce a lightweight version of the m5, the 5 series is a luxury sedan so amentities such us aircondition, navigation etc they have to be there. i dont thing that there is a place in the market for a car like bmw m5 csl

CSL M5 man I would love to see one of those. It could come out soon only if they used the old 5's series chasis.

I would have to agree with the other people in the forum. The M3 CSL competes with the Porsche GT3, and carries the M3 idea of a sporty coupe alittle farther. The M5 is designed to be a semi-sleeper family sedan, so producing a CSL would kind of defeat the idea. Besides, what would that compete with?
